My son isn't a kid. He is 50 years old with an excellent work record, and is still had a hard time getting a job. I don't know if it is the area - the southwest may be a worse area for jobs than here in the north. I do know that once he gets back home, I have no doubt that he will find work quickly. And he gets it as far as preparation goes, so I'm doubly glad to have him on his way home.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-7850093771837892182015-03-26T21:55:38.915-05:002015-03-26T21:55:38.915-05:00It's really hard on the younger bunch. Jobs are hard to find, tend to be temporary or part time, and not remunerated worth a Tinker's damn.Harry Flashmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05071021900005041592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-62766153431547844132015-03-26T20:29:47.489-05:002015-03-26T20:29:47.489-05:00Rob...You are right. I haven't talked at length with my son about jobs where he has been, but I know that it must be bad if he couldn't find work. He isn't a kid. He is well into middle age. And he has always been a good worker and a hard worker, so I know that there had to be something with the job market. I do know that once he gets back home, he won't have trouble finding a job. He never has lacked for work around here.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-34430334986773478202015-03-26T18:38:33.392-05:002015-03-26T18:38:33.392-05:00I think there are all kids of jobs out there, but ...I think there are all kids of jobs out there, but like you said at low wages. remember back years ago you left high school went into the military or a vo-tech and stayed at a job for life??? No more. <br />I have a cousin who was in a union job, with no future as far as moving up in the co. he told me he was riding the job to retirement. He got hurt on the job twice had surgeries, when he healed from the last one. He was fired. No more union job.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16800149852939042454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-39660983140095366662015-03-25T18:31:02.033-05:002015-03-25T18:31:02.033-05:00Preppy...I completely agree with what you are sayi...Preppy...I completely agree with what you are saying. I am sorry that my son was unable to find decent work where he wanted to be, but at the same time, I am really glad that he is headed back home where the rest of his family lives. I think it is more important than ever for families to stick together as much as is possible. It is tough to help each other when family members are scattered all over the country. And I think the time is not all that far off when we will need to do just that.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-78186608794920172412015-03-25T18:21:58.380-05:002015-03-25T18:21:58.380-05:00Some may say it's a bad thing but I feel the s...Some may say it's a bad thing but I feel the sagging economy bringing families back closer together is a good thing.
