I just don't think I could make myself get one of those devices. Lucky for me, at least one of the kids calls every couple of days to make sure I'm still alive and kicking. :)

Seriously, this handy dandy little washer and dryer are worth every dime. After nearly 20 years of hauling laundry up and down two flights of stairs, it is purely heaven to have all the wash done and put away without having to navigate those miserable steps. Wish I had thought of it years earlier!Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-54771670141198862202016-07-04T18:28:22.458-05:002016-07-04T18:28:22.458-05:00That's a big improvement. Duct tape is the exception. I don't think I ever used it as a band-aid, but I did use it to keep a bandage in place when I didn't have any surgical tape. They do a good job.

Wow! You have been busy! Blueberries are so good canned the way you did it. I haven't canned them for many years, but did lots when I lived where they grew wild. I have never canned raspberries, but it sounds really good. The fruit in the freezer will really taste good about January - or any time, for that matter. :)

I don't do the u-pick any more either, for pretty much the same reasons. I think what I miss most is going to the u-pick apple orchards in the fall. The body just rebels. Luckily we have the Farmers Market and a couple of the orchards sell apples in bulk. I would much rather have local produce than store bought, too.

I can relate to the kitchen disaster zone. By the time I finished the strawberries it looked like a strawberry field had blown up in the middle of my kitchen!Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-18909380156135939832016-07-01T16:14:50.628-05:002016-07-01T16:14:50.628-05:00Congrats on getting YOUR laundry room working.
Go...Congrats on getting YOUR laundry room working.
Got my fruit this morning. Ended up not dehydrating anything. Four pints of raspberry and 5 pints of blueberries all canned in a simple syrup and lightest syrup suggested in my canning book. Another 20 servings of blueberry plus a random 2-cup portion all for the freezer in ziplocks. The raspberries I put up in 6 quart size ziplocks for the freezer. My kitchen looked like a disaster zone until after a break and lunch.
Berries are spendy up here as well unless you go the 'u-pick' route. My energy level and back/knees prevent me from going to the u-pick places any more. But, I was glad my friend offered to drive over an hour away to get the fruit. At least it's local.
Cheers, SJ in Vancouver BCAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
