Most had good singing voices as well.

Sadly that gene did not transfer to me. The only music I can play is on the radio. :)Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-20254380337722755462018-02-15T06:22:31.366-06:002018-02-15T06:22:31.366-06:00Your mother sounds like she was very musically tal...Your mother sounds like she was very musically talented. wow. It has been my greatest fear that I would follow the same path but so far that has not happened.

Writing about my parents is something I have wanted to do before my memory fades. I don't know if my kids save these posts, but they will stay on this blog where they can read them when they wish. I save them on my computer and on a backup hard drive. I may save printed copies too, for I believe it is important to know about those who went before us. I suppose at 71, it has missed me. I feel so sad for the pain and crippling effect it has on people. It sounds like she had a great many talents where her hands were involved, so it is sad to see these abilities taken away. This was a good, warm, positive post about your mother. I am glad you are preserving these thoughts in writing so your children will have them to tell to their children. Do they print these off to save?Practical Parsimonyhttp://www.practical-parsimony.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-54032760767338128972018-02-14T20:53:18.952-06:002018-02-14T20:53:18.952-06:00Thank you, Rob...It was a time so very different f...Thank you, Rob...It was a time so very different from the present. There was a time when folks would gush over her, telling us what a saint she was. Those of us who have lived with a chronically ill person know that often they develop characteristics that are less than saintly, selfishness and manipulation being among them. I guess at the time I wished folks would see her as a person and not someone who wore a halo. She was often defined by her disease and not for herself and that irritated me. You are right about today's kids having mothers totally different than ours and that is sad.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09409645438732452330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6292915201767940326.post-8453223521241601622018-02-14T16:49:35.375-06:002018-02-14T16:49:35.375-06:00Technically, Vicki, a saint just means a Christian...Technically, Vicki, a saint just means a Christian, and Paul reminds us that Christians aren't perfect,so don't let it torque you. - lol - I'm afraid they don't make too many mothers like yours (and mine) these days.
