An Early Happy Thanksgiving

Wednesday is a busy day.  I don't think I will be spending much time with my computer.  First off it is grocery delivery day and it takes time to get it all put away.  I am spending Thanksgiving with my kids and grands, and this year I am in charge of the pumpkin pie baking and I also have had a request to bring a batch of chocolate chip cookies.  As my freezer is full, the baking has to wait until Wednesday.  I don't mind.  It is fun to make goodies, especially for the grands.

I know that our world is in a turmoil.  There is so much insanity going on at the moment that sometimes it is hard to keep up with it all.  And I know how important it is to be informed.

But on Thanksgiving I want to concentrate on my family.  A good share of what I have to be thankful for will be gathered at my youngest son's home and I plan on enjoying every second of our time together.

I am thankful for all of you as well.  You read whatever silliness I decide to post and you comment, too.  I don't know if you realize how much that means to me.

So I am wishing all of you a safe and happy Thanksgiving Day.  God bless.

  2. A early Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday as it seems the only time that if at all possible the entire family gets together. Although, all the kids and grandkids won't be able to this year there will still be a good gathering. I have the pie duty also this year.

    God Bless, Vicki.

  4. Jim...I will be missing a couple of mine this year as well, but there are enough of us to have a rousing good time. I am so thankful that with the exception of my granddaughter in the Army, everybody lives close by. My pies are in the oven, giving my little apartment the aroma of Thanksgiving.

God bless you and yours, Jim

  6. Thank you, SJ...Sometimes we just need to set everything else aside and concentrate on what is really important. For me, that would be my family. I believe Canada has a Thanksgiving Day as well, but on a different date than ours, so a Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, either belated or early. :) Pies are done - killing time waiting for grocery delivery before making cookies. I'm glad you found my blog, too! Life is good.

  7. We are ignoring the outside world and watching some feel good Christmas movies on Hallmark Channel. Just staying in out of the cold by the fire. I hope you have a really nice Thanksgiving!

  8. Harry...That sounds like a really nice day. Oldest son and I have a drive of about an hour to get to his brother's house, and there is snow in the forecast, but it looks like we are just on the edge of it so it shouldn't slow us down much. Once Christmas is past, staying in by the fire until spring sounds good to me. :) I hope you and your lovely wife have a warm, peaceful day.

  12. steakandeggs...Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well. I suppose I could get out and about more than I do, but truth be known, I really am a homebody. Today was nice, spending time with family. But I am thankful that I can go out by choice and not because I have to, especially with slippery roads like we found this morning! Thank you for taking the time to stop by. It is greatly appreciated.

  13. a blessed thanksgiving to your whole tribe.
canada thanksgiving is in october. i think they have it earlier to try avoiding the 8 feet of snow.
also, if their harvest isn't in by october it is just going to freeze in the field.

  14. Thank you, Deb...It was a really good day that I thoroughly enjoyed. I truly hope your Thanksgiving was as blessed as mine! Makes sense - Canadian Thanksgiving date. Even though I live 300 miles south of the Canadian border, we still had some slippery roads this morning with freezing rain and a little snow. One of the things I was thankful for today was that Oldest Son, who drove me to his brother's house on the other side of the city, is a very good driver, even in bad weather.
