I have a new...

GRANDPUPPY!!

Youngest son called me today.  Told me to check my email because there was a surprise waiting for me.  I did.  There was.

Meet Oreo.

She is half Australian Shepherd and half Standard Poodle.  And she is just so stinkin' cute.  She is getting to know her surroundings and I have no doubt she will be a good dog for the kids.

I hope that sometime after she settles in, she can come for a visit.  Grandpuppies are almost as much fun to spoil as are grandkids.  :)

  1. Oh, puppy love. What a cutey. My first puppy growing up was an Old English Sheepdog. Oreo looks very much like my first puppy. Happy to hear you have a grand-puppy. All the fun and not as much work. SJ in Vancouver

    1. SJ...Old English sheepdog was what I thought of when I first saw the photos. I have seen Labradoodles and Goldendoodles, but this is the first Aussiedoodle I have seen. David said that they didn't see the Poodle, but they did see the Aussie mom, and she is a beautiful, gentle dog. I am looking forward to some cuddle/play time - and maybe a bit of spoiling, too!!

    1. CM...I understand. I dearly miss having a dog, but physical limitations prevent me from being able to properly care for one any more. Guess I will have to be content with spoiling the grandpuppy once in awhile. :)

It just doesn't feel quite like home without a dog, though, does it.

  3. She is so stinking cute.
Just had our first major success with the potty training - first time pooping outside! It's all uphill from here.

    1. Hooray...Good for her!! I'll bet she catches on in no time. I hope that once she is settled in you will bring your family, including Oreo, down here so I can spoil her just a little bit. Not too soon - let her get comfortable with her new family first. I'm thinking the kids are loving having a dog again. :)

    1. Lisa...I have to agree. :) I am so glad my son and daughter-in-law decided to get another dog. It has been quite a while since their old beagle died. I think she is a great addition to their family.

  5. We had a cat we named OREO, she was black on both sides and white in the middle. We too will become a dog family when Jordon brings home Skye a yellow lab.

  6. Looks like you get a bonus of a dog when your son comes home. :) Labs are good dogs. Sammy will likely love having a dog in the family. I know I would.

  8. You need to have multiple visits with Oreo.
