I feel bad for Boston. She graduates from high school this year and may miss out on both Prom and the graduation ceremony. She has been dancing in competitions for several years and this her last year before college. It seems that the competitions are cancelled due to the virus. She made this video at the dance studio she attends and it is possible that it could be sent to the various competitions for judging in a virtual competition. Not the same as dancing in front of a real, live audience, but I am glad she may still be able to compete in this way. She worked hard on her routine and deserves some recognition for that.
So Boston...this one is for you. You made me very happy.
That is a very nice, happy video. She looks happy. I have happy all the time with my plants and Tommy.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda...She is a happy girl. We all need some happy in our lives.
DeleteShe's very good. I couldn't help but think of the pain if my poor old feet were slapping the floor like that, though. - lol
ReplyDeleteShe is, Gorges. She works at it. And yeah - You and I would be in deep trouble if we tried that. :)
DeleteShe has my vote - a "10"! These surely are trying times for all of us. Like you, our kids & grands have practiced social distancing from us & thus far, we are all well. Take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nursejoan...Glad to hear that you and yours are doing alright. Hopefully, we can get back to hugging on those kids and grands sometime soon!
DeleteOh real fresh cooked Chinese?? Its been awhile since we had any. The frozen doesn't count. For one thing Boston and all the other Seniors will never forget this year. I still remember my graduation night. I made a point to look around at all 600 of us, and think where our life would go next...
ReplyDeleteRob...The store where my son shops has a Chinese buffet. He brought me 2 kinds of chicken, fried rice and some egg rolls. And a fortune cookie - looks like I will be famous soon, according to the cookie. :)
DeleteBoston's school hasn't decided if they will have the graduation ceremony. But she is excited about going to the U of M this fall, so I guess it isn't so bad.
Gosh, she is fantastic! I love tap dancing and it makes me so happy to see the younger crowd dance!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mandy...She has been dancing since she was no bigger than a minute and I just love watching her. I can't be there in person any more, but many of her competitions have been live streamed and that is fun.
DeleteVicki, tell Boston we just know she would win any competition she enters. It is a shame though, that all seniors are being cheated out of traditions they have looked forward to for years. Thank you for sharing! And I would agree you have a lot of "happy" going on in your world. It is much deserved! CW
ReplyDeleteCW...I will tell her and she will love that! There is a lot of happy in the family. Her Dad has made DVDs for me of both Boston and her sister's dance competitions. Her sister is now into gymnastics and I have to get on him to video her meets. It is all such fun!
DeleteWhat a wonderful dancer. God bless her, you and your family, Vicki.
ReplyDeleteThank you, LindaG...She has worked hard over the years and you can tell she loves what she does. God's blessings on you and yours as well.
DeleteGlad to hear all of your happy news! Thanks for sharing the video of Boston -- she's really good!
ReplyDeleteThanks sbrgirl...We need some happy these days. Watching Boston dance does it for me.
DeleteThank you, Jean.
ReplyDeleteJust wow. I know nothing about tap but that was impressive. She should be proud of her accomplishment with the video. I hope she does get to enter it in a competition. She's obviously worked very hard.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve to be a very proud Grandma.
Cheers
SJ in Vancouver BC
Thanks, SJ...She has been in dance since she was fairly small and has worked hard to get to this point. I understand that before the shutdown, she was mentoring younger dancers. My Grands do make me a proud Grandma.
DeleteI don't know the first thing about dance,(I have two mismatched left feet and no sense of rhythm) But, I do recognize beauty, hard work and talent. The highest praise I have is ,"you done good" She has earned that.
ReplyDeleteDennis the librarian shusher
Welcome, Dennis...And thank you for the kind words. And yes - 'you done good' applies. She has worked hard to get to this point and has made me a proud Grandma. She called me to tell me she had seen this post and thought all the comments were awesome. I'll have to let her know there is one more to add to that.
