First we had about three years of "He's a Russian asset."
Then there was the Ukrainian phone call debacle.
Followed by the silliest impeachment hearings in modern history.
Then along comes a virus, turning governors and mayors into power hungry tin gods.
When lockdown weary folks began to defy the orders from on high, enter the riots and looting and burning.
And once that activity lessened, here comes a second wave of virus hysteria.
And smack dab in the middle of all this, lets toss in the protest marches designed not to protest injustices but to keep us riled up and spreading hate. God forbid we should sit down together like civilized grown-ups and try to work out our differences.
And we can not forget those politicians who posture and pontificate and treat us like dim-witted children who can't possibly make decisions for ourselves and our families. The same ones who do their level best to keep society dependent upon government. The same ones who think that defunding the police is a great idea. How's that working for you Chicago, New York, Minneapolis! Not working out too well for the baby boy who was shot and killed while sitting in his stroller at a family picnic. Not too well for the little girl shot and killed while playing outside at her Grandma's house. Not too well for the cops who lost their lives due to the uptick in criminal violence this week. And last week. And the week before. But hey - we need fewer cops, dontcha know. Not working out too well at all.
I'm tired. Tired of it all. I was under the impression that I lived in America. You remember America, don't you? That place where we could speak our minds freely. That land of freedom to live our lives the way we chose to within the law. Where with hard work we could accomplish great things. That place where our flag waved proudly and was treated with respect and where citizens were treated the same.
I wonder if we can ever get it back - that America.

When I saw the planes hit the towers on 911, I told my wife that we were seeing the beginning of the end--not because it happened, but because it was ALLOWED to happen. I've seen nothing since to change my mind.
ReplyDeleteGorges...Not only allowed, but encouraged. I don't know if anyone except God can stop it.
DeleteVicki, those of us who are longing for our America the beautiful to return may not live long enough to see it happen. There are many who are completely fed up, and only a few who are driving the bus...on the wrong side of the road, I might add. They simply want to destroy everything in their path, control how everyone else will have to live, and take away the values and freedoms we have known and loved. I realize that our country was never perfect, but it is bar none the best this world has to offer. Right now the hatred, the persecution, the sex trafficing, and the corruption have caused a great divide among us. Only God knows what is to become of the mess we are now in, but I pray that he will allow us to begin to take our great country back again. It is going to be a very long road back but a way of life worth fighting for...
ReplyDeleteCW...I am absolutely astounded by the fact that there are so many who are not willing to fight for our country. I am not talking about physical fighting, although when WWII was declared, every man - young, old and in-between - was more than willing to do whatever it took to preserve this nation. Now they riot and burn and loot and stomp all over our history and our flag and do everything they possibly can to destroy it. I just do not understand what they think could be better than what we have had.
DeleteAll I want is for my grands to have a chance to enjoy the kinds of freedoms I had earlier in my life. I pray daily that God will see fit to turn us back to the values that made us a great nation. For without them, we are done.
No, Vicki, we can't get it back. It's gone.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I am so tired. The stress of it all just saps a person. I think that is one of the means they use to achieve their totalitarian end.
Hatred appears to rule the day, but there are still a lot, a whole lot of really good people out there. I'm starting to hear the phrase 'the silent majority' more and more. I wonder if the time will come when they are silent no more.
Be healthy and safe. Keep the faith and keep reminding us what is most important in this life. We need you and everyone that keeps speaking up.
Fern
Good morning Fern...
DeleteThe constant barrage of hate and discontent wears us down, and I think that is precisely what the evil left is counting on. I know there are many good people in our country, but I have to wonder how much more they will take before they speak out. I understand how fear can cripple us. People are losing their jobs for speaking against the left agenda. Some have lost their lives for that reason. I sometimes wish I were one of those who could just sit down and shut up. But I can't.
I realize that we have already gone off the edge of the cliff and are halfway down to the bottom. But I just can not give up. I saw an interview with a Holocaust survivor. She was so weakened by starvation that she could not walk, so she crawled on her hands and knees to reach the American soldiers who had liberated the death camp where she had been kept a prisoner for years. When asked how she managed to survive, she replied that she kept a spark of hope alive that the torture would end and she would again be free. Hope is nearly all we have left and I can not just let it die.
Thank you for all you and Frank do to keep us on the right track. You are an inspiration to us all.
I believe we will get America back, but I also believe it will not be without a lot of bloodshed and death from malnutrition and disease. With so many people hellbent on our destruction, we can't stop what's coming; we can get as far out of their way as possible and continue preparing for the inevitable. More food, more medicine, more clothes and fuel. And everything else we might need.
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer...The question is, what condition will our country be in at the end of the day. Preparing for the worst is essential. I so appreciate the work you do to keep us informed. Many of your posts have given me ideas that I hadn't thought of before and I truly thank you for that. Take care and keep up the good work. We need more like you.
DeleteI think all of us smart folks are tired of all these games. At some point i feel that marshal law will be declared. So much miss information is out there. When it comes down to you have to wear a mask to go here there and anywhere. I will play the game.
ReplyDeleteRob...I would not be surprised to see martial law. Things are getting completely out of control. It isn't that I object to wearing a mask. It is that I resent some slimy politician telling me I have to.
DeleteAt any point in time have we not had slimy politicians What I find strange is they are all on the same page no matter their location. Must be using a secret radios or something to talk with each other...LOL
DeleteRob...Something maybe like the old comic book wrist radios. :) Actually, I think the common denominator is hunger for power. And evil intent.
DeleteFrankly, I'm tired of being told what I can and can't say. My new tack; voice my opinion whenever I get the chance. The more folks like us do that, the less power the nanny state has. If I get blowback from some Left Wingnut, I give them two words, one finger, and move on...
ReplyDeleteHonestly; we need to be less afraid of being lambasted by hive-minded pajama boys, and MORE afraid of what will happen if we don't speak up!
Pete...What you say is spot on. I am so very tired of the perpetually offended deciding what can be said and what can not. There is this piece of parchment with some famous names at the bottom that says I can say what I damn well please. So I do.
DeleteI'm sure you have heard the quote, "And then they came for me---and no one was left to speak up for me." That is precisely where we are headed if we continue to cower in the face of the left wing haters. Can't do it. Won't do it. There is way too much to lose by keeping silent.
I voted for Trump in 2016.Unfortunately I feel he has failed us. This country is in chaos & he continues to ignore things. He is not a leader. Had hoped things would be different, but they are not. They are worse. I would consider any other Republican candidate but I refuse to vote for Trump again. This country will never survive another 4 years with him in office. Sad but true.
ReplyDeleteWe are each entitled to our own opinions. I will disagree with you on this one. I believe President Trump is all that stands between the people and total anarchy. I seriously doubt anyone else could do such a remarkable job under the conditions he has had to contend with from the radical left. I think the only chance our country has for survival is under his leadership for another 4 years.
DeleteYou are correct - we will have to disagree. I can't find anything "remarkable" that Trump has done. It's been a huge letdown. Speaking with many others (friends/family) who feel the same way. We had hopes it would be different. We need a true leader, not a bully. Trump has shown his ugly side, and I don't like it one bit. I'm not the type to turn a blind eye to things I see & hear. It's time for us to move on & give someone more competent a chance.
ReplyDeleteYou and I will likely never see eye to eye on the Presidency of Donald Trump. We don't have to. We are free to believe what we wish. That being said, this is not a blog for debate and I have said all I am going to say on the subject. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
DeleteSo if I understand what you are saying Anon...you would prefer voting for someone like B(hillary) who called half of the American citizens "deplorables"? Don't bother to respond to this question as I think we already know the answer. Have a nice day...
