I Was Gonna Rant

I really was.  There has been much to rant about in the last couple of days.

Our Governor here in Minnesota is at it again.  This time his power grab has had an effect on several members of my family.  He cost one of my sons one of his jobs.  He made some of my grandchildren cry by depriving them of proper schooling, of their recreational and competitive sports and is isolating them in front of computers instead of allowing them to be with their friends doing kid stuff.

I also had a pretty good rant going about the state of our national election.  I had lots to say about cheaters and fraud and corruption.

But here's the thing.

They have finally worn me down.  The politicians and the pundits and the newscasters.  I am so done with it all.

I don't want to see any more press conferences from either side.  I want to see proof in a court of law and I want this election to be decided one way or another.

I don't want to hear any more governors telling me how very sorry they are and that they feel our pain and oh, yeah, you no longer have a job and you can't go to school and you can't go to the gym and forget about that funeral for your Grandmother or that wedding of your niece and sorry, but your grandson can no longer go for religious instruction for his Confirmation.  And forget about a traditional Thanksgiving and you probably won't be with family at Christmas either.

And most of all I don't want to hear about a 12 year old friend of my grandson being caught using Google to search for ways to commit suicide.

I want our lives back.  I don't want a new normal.  I liked the old normal just fine.  I want our country back.  It used to be a pretty good place to be.

I wonder what would happen if everybody just stood up and in unison yelled "NO MORE!"

  1. There lies the problem, Vicki; the citizens of this once great country have lost their spines and won't stand up for anything. Many will even complain to the high heavens and then vote the same morons back in office. It's not the same world that we grew up in.

    1. You are absolutely right, Gorges...It wasn't all that long ago when no red blooded American would put up with some government official telling them what to wear and how far away from another person they had to stand and how many cousins they could invite for Thanksgiving dinner. That official would have been voted out of office and maybe even be ridden out of town on a rail. Which isn't such a bad idea.

  2. Our Gov in Ohio is doing the same thing. Trying to kill our economy. I heard that he is involved in the election fraud now too. They are trying to impeach him. I was trying to watch the fraud press conference and hackers went in and turned off the sound yesterday. So sick of it too. We want our lives back just like you.

    1. Kristina...I probably wouldn't mind the lockdowns so much if I thought for one little bitty minute that we were being told the truth. But to hear our local news you would think people are dropping like flies in the streets. All I really want out of life at this late date is to hug my grandkids again. Or even see them. A pox on the greedy, power hungry politicians - all of 'em!

  3. Vicki, my answer to most of this nonsense is "I will not comply". I know what these control freak politicians are up to, and I refuse to be treated with such disrespect. What they are doing to the people of this country is being allowed by the people. We are not sheep! We must stand on our two feet and scream "I will not comply."

    1. Some of us are not sheep, CW...The rest stand in line every spring to be sheared. Here they have another trick up their sleeves. We are told we must respond to 'contact tracers' who want names of those supposedly having been in contact with someone who tested positive. Don't think so. Not me. And I know for sure, not you either. The more we comply with their outlandish orders, the more they will pile on us. Yep - "I will not comply" with any of it!

  4. CW, that’s my response, too. I realize it may cost me dearly and I know my little stand by itself won’t change the larger situation but I’ve got to try something. It reminds me of the “Emperor has no clothes” story. If no one does anything, nothing changes.

  5. Vicki, that was rant enough! REVR'ND!

Our nanny... er... "governor..." just imposed a 10:00pm-5:00am curfew. California has been under the most draconian lockdown of all the states since this whole thing began. Masks? They've been required since March. If they work so well, why has there been this tremendous spike of "positives" in California... that started two weeks before Election Day... appearing out of nowhere... at the same time as the rest of the country...? I've got two words for our moron "governor..." ...and one finger... I will not comply either...

    Rant away, Vicki!

    1. Pete...I thought our governor here was a complete moron, but yours has him beat six ways from Sunday. He seems to be doing his level best to ruin one of the most beautiful states in the country. I have spent some time in your state. I have collected shells and sand dollars on your beaches. I have gazed in wonder at the majesty of your Redwoods. I probably wouldn't give a plug nickel for the cities, there or anywhere else for that matter. But for someone to work so hard at wrecking such a beautiful place for the sake of greed and power deserves much more than a couple of words and a double-barreled finger salute.

The spike in positives began here about the same time as yours, but has accelerated considerably since election day. "Pay no attention to the fraud and cheating and corruption. You're all going to die unless you follow our guidelines to the letter."

Comply? Nope. Not gonna do it.

  6. To All who read and agree with this wonderful blog post. We are at a great tipping point in our Country. For the most part, I have quit "Fox". I do check in once in a while to see what they are spewing out of their pie holes. Just caught another disgusting Martha McCallum interview with Marc Theisen. Both agreed that Trump should give up on trying to win the 2020 election and begin campaigning in Georgia for the 2024...what??? If anyone one who reads this has a Twitter account (I do not) maybe a hash tag #ditch the fox would be something to get started...We need people to speak up. If I was tech savy, I would do it myself. 1. CW...I have stopped watching Fox except for Tucker Carlson, but last night he lost me, too, when he took a swipe at Trump's attorney, Sidney Powell. He was miffed because after sending her several texts requesting an interview, she finally told him to stop bothering her. That wasn't news. That was a pouting child and I am so done with all of that. I am too fat to run very fast - or at all - and too old to take a whoopin', so my fighting is done here and in conversations with some members of my family and with close friends. And with refusing to play their silly, little games. Compliance - nope. Not now - not ever.

  7. I feel the same. I have stopped watching the political news altogether (that I used to watch daily). The politicians, pundits and newscasters just talk and talk and nothing ever changes, I realized. Our governor just imposed some stronger restrictions on people and business's also, starting today. I've come to the realization that the corruption on both sides is so deep and wide.

I imagine there may be some cable news channels worth watching, but I don't have a TV, so now I check 'One America News Network' and 'Newsmax TV' online. I expect there are others, but I just haven't taken the time to look for them.

I knew corruption existed on both sides of the aisle, but didn't realize how deeply it went into the right side until I saw several Republicans saying Trump should just concede the election and move on. They obviously have forgotten who pays their salaries and it is quite possible they need to be reminded at the next election.

  8. I done with Fox News! They have a few hosts who have been blatantly anti-Pres Trump from the beginning, a few who were sneaky but used words with a negative connotation whenever they could to hurt him, a few who seemed "loyal" but have jumped ship (Tucker, Laura, the morning crew), and Lou Dobbs who is still angry about this coup attempt. Sean Hannity is too busy talking about his previous jobs for me to tell where he stands. Do the owners of Fox think libs will ever watch them?

Should Biden succeed it will never happen for he is one of the worst swamp creatures.

The America we grew up in may not have been perfect, but we had the freedom to say what we wanted to say and do what we wanted to do within the laws. Not so any more. You are spot on when you say we need to get back to the basics. I really miss America.

  11. I know exactly how you feel, Vicki! I live in Illinois so I live under Dictator Pritzker! I'm done with it all too! I haven't watched any News shows on TV since the night of Nov. 3rd and will not watch in the future...I read some news sites online. I got thrown off of Twitter 2 weeks ago for saying China was America's greatest foreign enemy.....I'm done with Twitter! I live alone, am an elderly widow of 39 yrs....I haven't seen my daughter or grandson in person since Christmas 2019...They live in St. Charles, Mo., so we have no plans to be together for Thanksgiving and have decided to forget about Christmas also. I grocery shop at our Walmart once a month and pick up my meds thru a "drive thru glass shielded window" at my local pharmacy....My elderly sister lives 2 blocks from me....we meet a few times a week across the street from each other to say "hello"...we talk on the phone often....sometimes I find myself wondering if there really is a "world" existing out there somewhere?????

    ReplyDelete
  12. lynney62...This whole thing is completely upside down and backwards, isn't it! Families should be together - not kept apart. It is good that you have your sister close to you. I understand the heartache of not seeing children and grandchildren. I have a 2 month old great granddaughter I have yet to see in person. But I have an adult son living next door that I see every couple of days and another who is not afraid to stop in now and then, so I feel truly blessed. I am convinced that those dictators who are doing this to us either have no idea how lonely many of the elderly are, or they just don't care, which in my book is criminal.

The world we grew up in was not perfect, but it was free from tyranny. I pray we will see it again soon. God bless.

    1. Vicki..... The idea that pols don’t know or don’t care how lonely we are doesn’t go far enough, I think. I’ve come to the conclusion that they aren’t just stupid or criminal. They’re evil. They know exactly what they’re doing. Keeping us isolated and scared.

Remember we’re not fighting against just men.....

      Stay strong, everyone.

    2. LTM...You are absolutely spot on. Evil keeps families separated from one another. Evil keeps our kids and grands from proper learning. Evil keeps friends from greeting each other with a hug. Evil limits the number of people who can meet together. Evil takes away jobs and businesses. Evil divides a nation.

I sometimes wonder if Evil fears us, for when we work together - all of us - we are a force to be reckoned with. Why else would Evil go to such great lengths to try to tear us apart. There is strength in numbers and more importantly, there is strength through faith. Our American History tells us there is nothing we can not accomplish if we work together and if we stay true to God's word. Now would be a good time to put those things into practice.

  13. Vicki~ There are times when you can rant. There are times when you can cry. There are times when you can give your burdens up to the Lord. Then there is the time when you stop being mad. That is when you go cold and set about getting even for the injustices committed against one and all.

Back in the late 1990's and early 2000's I worked with some of the finest Law Enforcement out there. Not only did they deal with illegal drugs and the manufacture of said drugs, they also dealt with runaways that got hooked and pimped out, plus child trafficking. That female in line behind gropy dopey got rid of this successful interdiction force as a cost saving measure.

They Covet all We the People have worked for and want to strip everything including our lives and the futures of coming generations. We need to stop being fearful. Lord grant us strength and determination. Red

    1. Red...I think I am stuck between mad and cold determination. The mad part is mostly about those who blindly accept every lie told as gospel and those who just trail along like sheep, never questioning - always accepting no matter how absurd. Toss in some frustration in the knowing I can not change a thing. I can rant and I can cajole and I can encourage, but nothing seems to change. So for now I continue to pray and stack it to the rafters.

Your description of the female's actions adds to my perception of evil in a pants suit. There had better be a special place in hell for someone who would toss away something that saved so many lives just to save a buck.

Personally, I refuse to live in fear. At my age, the threat of a life sentence isn't much of a deterrent. But how does one combat the fear in others. We have for nearly a year now been spoon fed the lie that we are all going to die unless we comply. And longer than that, the 'everyone is racist' lie. And the 'white privilege' lie. And dozens more. The only thing I can think to do is pray, pray and pray some more.

Thank you for your comments, Red. You always give me a something to consider and think about.

  14. I enjoy reading your blog! Just had to comment. I too and tired. Tired of it all. My husband lost his oil field job in March. With it his health insurance. He is a type one diabetic so no insurance is a big deal. So far we have made it OK, he has picked up work here and there. But we are getting down to it so to speak. I applied for him, for medicade. What a joke. We have paid a lot of taxes over the years, and this was a last resort for us. They denied him. They ask first is he an immigrant, then if he was a refugee.... Nope to either. Not a single mother and not a person of color. So denied he was. They shut us down. They expect you to live on...what? He couldn't even get unemployment due to a small severance package. We are not spring chickens anymore so him finding a job hasn't been easy. He finally went to work last week for 10 bucks an hour. He has a ton of skills, is a good worker. A long work history in both argiculture and the oil field, and he is working for 10 bucks and hour. Don't get me wrong, we feel blessed to have that because it is better than no bucks and hour. But it won't pay for all the medication he needs to live. We are "not all in this together", so sick of hearing that. Tell that to the people that are dying alone in nursing homes. Tell that to the elderly living alone, afraid to go out , family afraid to come visit. This is a "new normal". There isn't anything "normal" about any of this. They keep making "rules". Are we children, that can't think for ourselves? Oh right, we aren't supposed to think for ourselves..they know whats best for us. :(
Didn't mean to rant, just another person fed up and slowly wearing down.

You have a double whammy going on - job loss and diabetes - and that makes it more difficult. Just so you know, we have a pretty good group of folks who come here on a regular basis and I am willing to bet that you and your husband are being remembered in prayer as I type.

You are spot on. We are not 'all in this together.' I don't see any of those politicians who are mandating their silly rules and regulations losing their paychecks. But they don't seem to mind putting thousands of restaurant workers out of work here in Minnesota. I saw a while back where a group of Seniors in a care facility wheeled themselves out to the curb with their signs to protest, saying they would rather die of the virus than of loneliness. None of this is even close to being normal.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. You expressed exactly what so many of us are feeling. God bless.

    3. Ann...I should have been more specific. I do feel sorry for anyone who believes masks are all about the virus. They may help to a very small degree, such as blocking droplets from
sneeze, but they are mostly about exerting control. As an adult I am fully capable of making decisions concerning my health. I see no reason for the population to be in such a panic over a virus that has a 99.98% recovery rate.

    4. Ann, in the past 100 years many many things have happened to move our great Country toward socialism and a one world order. Vicki is correct. What is happening now has very little to do with the virus or the masks. This is about government control of the masses or population. Many people are behaving as sheep with their inability to see that there is a devious end game in mind. Read up on Agenda 21, New World Order, and what the promoters of both are referring to as The Great Reset. If one doesn't know history they are not able to see into the future. They cannot ever know where they are going. We are now at a tipping point in this country. We are facing war, famine, and a serious loss of liberty. I do not know your political persuasion but if you favor free speech, the right to protect yourself and family, then you would understand that both of those rights are about to disappear. The election was a sham due to fraudulent activities by the Democrat Party. We must get to the bottom of the swamp and clean it out. Remember our Constitution is what has been the backbone of this country; not the politicians. Our Country is a Republic; not a Democracy. There is a big difference between the two.

    5. Ann, I have asthma. My doctor said a mask will not keep me from getting or receiving any virus. She said it will make it much more difficult for me to breath. The media is pushing masks because it scares people. They want you to be frightened. Do some real research concerning the masks. Back in 1918, the medical profession did not know what we can prove today. There is no proof masks helped then or are helping now.
