  2. JUGM: I love Son's sense of humor!

You heard right. My family are all located not in the city of Minneapolis, but the surrounding area. It isn't that cold here as yet (Son was a couple hundred miles north.), but tonight the temp is supposed to drop. They are talking about wind chill factor of 40 - 60 degrees below zero. Schools are already closed for Monday and they are considering closing Tuesday as well.

The good news is that my apartment is warm. And I get a fish dinner out of the deal!!

  3. Maybe he'll bring you some fillets. They's be good, fried, served with hush puppies and some coleslaw on the side.

  4. Jess, he called me on his way north and told me that he would bring me some fish. I usually pan fry them with fresh fried potatoes, but hush puppies and slaw sounds really good, too.

  5. There's no reason to not add potatoes to the hush puppies and coleslaw. It started to suggest that, but was thinking some people might consider that way too many carbohydrates... which is something I don't understand. There's no such thing as too many carbohydrates; there ARE way too many servings.

  6. Jess, fried potatoes with fish is kind of a family thing, passed down from my parents. I see nothing wrong with the menu including hush puppies and coleslaw. I once asked my family doctor about a diet to take off weight. He told me to eat whatever I wanted, and added "Just don't eat so much of it." Makes sense to me.

  7. I hope you enjoyed eating the fish as much as I enjoyed catching them.

  10. It was just a wee bit nippy! But the fish house they use is sort of like a heated RV with holes in the floor to drill through the ice to fish. And the walleye they catch on that lake are delicious!
