Blogger Strikes Again

Blogger, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that I need word verification in my comment section.  I didn't put it there.  I also can't seem to get rid of it.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

  1. I had no issue just now on the other post.

  2. I find that calling them nasty names helps to relieve the tension. Unfortunately, that's ALL it does.

  3. I doubt Blogger puts on word identification on its own. They ignore my complaints, so I cannot imagine them going out of their way to make sure you are secure.

  4. Rob...That's good. I just want it gone, though, and can't seem to be able to accomplish that.

  5. Gorges...I tried that approach, and you are right. Made me feel a little better, though!

  6. Practical Parsimony...I just don't know where the word verification came from as I did not change my settings. It just appeared. And I can't get it to disappear.

  7. At the top of the blog you should have a thing that says design. click on that.

Go to "comments" on the template it pulls up.

You should be able to disable verification from there.

  8. Thanks, Harry...I tried that and it isn't working. I'm not going to obsess over it. It either goes away or it doesn't. I just found it odd that comment verification would show up without me having made any changes to any of the settings. But then, stranger things have happened, I guess!

  9. That really is strange. I wonder if someone has been fooling with your blog? That's a disconcerting thought.

  10. Harry...I have no idea why anyone would bother messing with my little blog. It's not like I get political very often! But somehow a program called "reCAPTCHA" has taken over my comments by adding word verification and not letting me change the settings. I don't want word verification. But I can't change that and I can't find anywhere to uninstall this program or plug-in or whatever it is. I'm so crabby right now from this quitting smoking thing that I don't have the patience to deal with google or blogger or whatever this is. I'm going to just leave it alone for a day or two and then see if I can get rid of it.

  11. My blog was messed up for months. Then, it just fixed itself. I am going to see if captcha is on for this comment.

  12. I did not have a captcha come up for me that time. Has it fixed itself?

  14. Mary & Practical Parsimony...Word verification is still there as I type this. I, too, have had odd things happen with blogger that fix themselves after a while. And frankly, I just don't have the patience to deal with this at the moment. As long as there are no other problems with this blog, I'm not going to worry about it at present. Thanks for your comments and for the other suggestions. I appreciate it.

  15. Hope things get fixed there. I know how aggravating it is. I had a thing get on my blog once where it put advertisements on the blog! And some of them were vulgar. Somebody told me how to get rid of it finally.

  16. Harry...I messed around trying to get rid of the word verification on comments to no avail. It is no big deal. I just have been having the same as Rob lately - terminal writer's block. :) Hopefully my brain cells will start working again soon and I will find something interesting to write about.
By the way...the word verification is useless. I just type in about seven random letters and the comment goes through. Stupid.

  17. Since you have it too, it must be winter weather brain drain. Our brain shuts down for the winter....BIG S### EATING GRIN....

  18. Rob...OK. That explains it! :) I haven't been able to come up with an idea for a post to save my soul. The bears have the right idea - just go to sleep for the winter.

  19. Wait long enough, and it will fix itself. Blogger is a capricious computer code, written by those that have too much time to play with people's minds.

As far as writing, write about tomorrow morning. There's something grand about awakening, greeting the new day, and being determined to make it more special than any before.

  20. Jess...I have given up on getting rid of the comment word verification. I'm just not computer savvy enough to dig around in the code. It isn't a big enough deal to worry about.

You have a way of hitting a nail directly on the head. Sometimes I forget just how lucky I am to be living the way I want to live, doing many of the things I enjoy doing. So I will do as you suggest. Tomorrow may prove to be interesting. Thanks Jess. Sometimes I need a bit of a shove in the right direction!!

  21. For some reason I didn't get this posting on my dashboard.

Vicki - there was no word verification when I commented on todays posting. Maybe Blogger is all better? :)
