Our local weatherman...

tells us there could be some snowflakes in the air in the next couple of days.  My first reaction was "Noooo!!"

And then I remembered that those protesters who like to gather in the town square or on the freeway to bring traffic to a grinding halt don't like to march while spewing their hate filled slogans or stand on the highway waving their 'No Justice - No Peace' signs when the wind is howling and the snow is falling.

Maybe winter is not a bad thing after all.

  2. I've heard it will happen here as well. I don't have my rain barrels flipped over, and the current rain is holding back my progress. I'm glad for the rain, but hope I get a few days after that to get stuff done, ha ha!

    1. Kristina...There are few advantages to apartment living, but one of them is that I don't have to winterize anything. They are talking about dropping temps going into next week. I hope you get some decent weather to finish up.

  4. That is a good reason! I would like to request it hold off until after Halloween, I hate seeing all those cold trick or treaters. Game on after that!!

    1. Jenn...I'm with you on the snow waiting until after Halloween. It is sad when a kid has to cover up a neat costume with a heavy coat.

  5. You certainly put a nice, positive spin on that. And got me laughing, thx.
I think this winter will be rough as well. I put my snow tires on as soon as they were legal. The tire store salesman thought it was going to be worse here then last year. Yikes.
And, yes, there are upsides to living in an apartment. I'm really glad that I no longer have to shovel snow/ice.
    Cheers, SJ

    1. SJ...Sometimes we have to dig pretty deep to find a reason to like winter. :)
I have been hearing rumors of a cold and very snowy winter here, too. There are times when being housebound is not so bad and I think a brutal winter is one of those times. And I am really glad someone else has to shovel snow and I don't!

  6. I saw on the weather this morning you were getting some nippy air in there. Things settle down up here in winter, all the tourists and summer residents leave. Maybe the cold will put a lid on things there, as you say.

    1. Harry...Yep, I do believe summer is done. Most of the snow will be to the north of us with less than 1 inch predicted here.

There have been only a few annoying protests this year. I think folks are tired of the foolishness. But winter shuts down at least the outdoor protests. BLM has shut down the Mall of America in the past, but a couple of years ago the courts ruled that the mall was privately owned and therefore could refuse entry to the protesters, which they did. So yup - I love winter if only for the satisfaction of knowing it slows down the fools who march with their silly signs. :)

  8. Rob...Whatever it takes to get us through. Me...I will dream of sandy beaches, palm trees and fruity drinks with little paper umbrellas in them. :)
