It just took forever to finish this afghan. But over the weekend I put the finishing touches on it and it is done. I lack good lighting and the space to spread it out, so these pictures will have to do. It is large enough to cover a double bed. The main color is more a teal than the pictures show. Only two more to go and all the grands graduation afghans will be completed.
I have pretty much been a lazy slug since. Reading, napping, playing on the computer. Once in a while, being a slug is a good thing. I am now rested and ready to take on the world. Well. OK. Maybe just my little corner of the world. Most times, that is enough.
This and That

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA well earned rest, imo
Made pulled pork in my instant pot today. Will have it with mashed potatoes. Yum.
From your last post - very sad that kids today rarely get to feel that independence we had as kids.
Cheers, SJ
Thank you, SJ...I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
DeletePulled Pork sounds really good. I still have just a little bit of lazy going on, so scrambled eggs and toast with grape jelly was the height of my culinary efforts this evening. :)
I think society has changed so much in the last 50 years or so. I remember only one kid out of my graduating class of over 300 who used drugs and now it seems like drug use is common. The closest thing to a gang we had was a group of local boys who formed a Car Cub and they worked on their hot rods on weekends. Now viscous gangs are everywhere. Yep...kids will likely never again know what freedom is. Sad.
Thanks, Gorges...I hope my granddaughter likes it.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt about it...your granddaughter will consider it to be one of her most prized possessions! You are on the downhill slide now with only two to go. Also hope Duane is doing much better. Take care....CW
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, CW...I hope she likes it. I already have some squares done for the next one so maybe it won't take so long to finish. Duane has regular therapy sessions, goes for walks when the weather isn't too nasty and is getting better. It will take time, but so far, so good. Thanks for asking. :)
DeleteIt’s beautiful, Vicki! Your granddaughter will love it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you, CottonLady. I'm happy with the way it turned out. Hope she likes it.
DeleteI love it! They do take a while to make, but so worth it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kristina...The smile on a grandbaby's face is worth every hour of time spent. I admire your crochet work, especially the little camper ornaments, having owned one just like the aqua colored one. Memories. :)
DeleteIts not like other things kept happening to slow you down. Its beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rob...Yeah, I guess there were a couple of distractions, but it is done. Onward, ho!!
DeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, BW...Two more to go and then it is on to something else to keep me busy. :
