News Flash

Listen up.  For those who would work to change America into something it is not and was never intended to be, I have some news for you.

There are two genders.  God created them.  They are Man and Woman.  If you want to pretend to be something you are not, don't expect me to buy into the lie.  If you are a hairy chested athlete who decided he is a she in order to compete in women's sports, you should be ashamed of being too lazy to do the work to succeed against other men.  And should you go ahead with the farce and win a trophy competing against those of the opposite sex, you should be booed off the field for the cheater that you are.

When are those in power going to understand the simple reality that all the gun laws and restrictions in the world are not going to keep me safe.  If some deranged individual kicks in my apartment door with mayhem on his mind, I have mere seconds to react.  I can use those seconds to call 911, and officers of the law will come as quickly as they can, bringing with them chalk to outline where my body lays and a body bag to carry me away.  Or...I can shoot the bastard and live to hug my grandchildren another day.

Those on the left get their knickers in a twist because illegal aliens are deported and their children are separated from them.  We see pictures of crying kids and I hate to see children in distress as much as the next person.  But who is to blame for these circumstances.  Not law enforcement.  They are upholding the laws enacted by Congress.  Try putting the blame on the heads of parents who chose to cross our borders illegally, putting their own children in peril.  Had they chosen to come to our country legally, their children would not be sobbing their hearts out when Daddy is taken away.

I'm a racist.  You're a racist.  All God's children are racists- but only if they are conservative.  And why is this, you might ask?  Because that's all they've got.  The left has Socialism.  They have free stuff for all.  They have notions of gun grabbing.  And when their ideas are questioned for the lunacy that they are, their stock answer is, "Shut up, you racist."

If you are determined to disrespect our flag, our National Anthem, our very country, take a knee somewhere else.  The sports arena is not the place to do it.  Shame yourselves on your own time.  My young grandson loves sports.  He plays baseball.  He plays football.  He plays hockey.  He learns how to work with others as a team.  He learns sportsmanship.  He learns how to win gracefully and how to lose gracefully.  He learns he has to work to win that trophy,  And then you blockheads come along and teach him that none of that matters.  You teach him that the very country that gives opportunities to do what he loves, deserves to be ground under your cleats.   You might have been a hero to youngsters at one time.  All you are now is an ungrateful embarrassment.

There are lunatics in Washington, DC.  There are lunatics in Hollywood.  There are lunatics in the sports arena.  There are lunatics in every place where the power hungry reside.  There you will find the lowest of the low - the lawless - the depraved - the hateful - the most vile.  Those who consider themselves the elites.  The ones who know better than we do how we should live our lives.  The ones who are above us all and who expect us to blindly follow.

But take a little side trip into middle America.  The places where the real people live.  The farmers and the ranchers and the factory workers and restaurant cooks and office workers and cab drivers and the cops and the firemen and the first responders and store clerks and the miners.    Those people who will shake your hand without trying to rob your wallet at the same time.  Those people who will tell you the truth.  Those people who will stand, hand over heart, when the flag passes in the 4th of July parade.  Those people who go to work every day so their families will have a roof over their heads and food on the table.  Those people who don't give a tinker's damn about fame or power or any of the rest of it.  Those people who watch their daughter's dance recitals and their son's baseball games.  Those people who find nothing more important than reading a bedtime story to their children.  Those people who cling to their guns, their Bibles, their God.

Those are the people who matter.  The elites may try to convince us that their insanity is something we all should buy into.  But Middle America is better than that.  Middle America knows what is truly important and there are more of us than there are of the lunatic elite.  And we can be pushed only so far.  I think we may be on the edge of the cliff now.  But we will not fall off the edge and into their cesspool.  We know what is good and right, and it ain't you - the self centered, power hungry, anti-patriotic, morally deficient elite.

  2. I really want to believe that too, but then I see people I know...regular folks like you and me and you described above, who actually believe that elitist crap and that's what scares me the most.

    1. One Family...I want to believe that the majority of regular folk are basically good. Perhaps that is living in my own little unicorn populated world, but there it is. I know there are bad people - and some really nasty bad people. But if we can ever get back to a country where we are not so divided, where we can learn to care for one another again and where we can have a common goal of preserving the very best country on earth, we might just have a chance to tell those elites to go pound sand.

  3. Vicki~ You Go Girl! When I was in the market last week, a man went walking by wearing a leopard print skirt, lace tank top, ballet flats and full makeup with a beard and wig. It was one of those People of Walmart moment pictures that are posted on that site. He kept going up and down the aisles and the second time around I noticed he was wearing sun glasses that could record video. The blinking red light gave him away. I asked him if he had gotten written permission from everyone he was recording. He left the store without his items.

I'm of the mind that to be a racist has nothing to do with skin color against skin color. Being a Racist is anyone who disagrees with a Liberal/Socialist/Communist/Progressive/Slavers.

    1. Red...I debated with myself about posting this one, but then decided that if we don't defend our beliefs, nobody else will. I am really tired of being among those who are ridiculed for not buying into the insanity. And insanity is exactly what it is.

Love your description of the Walmart shopper/recorder. I don't even mind those people so much. If they chose to make fools of themselves in public, they have every right to do so, aside from recording without permission. The ones who chap me are the ones who are pretending to be girls so they can compete in girls sports. One of my granddaughters worked her tail off to make the Varsity tennis team at her school. If some big boy came along claiming to be female and took all that away from her just because he could, I believe this could be a serious problem.

Your perception of racism is spot on. I don't remember racism as being a major problem since the 1960's. Now anyone who doesn't drink the Kool-Ade is most certainly racist. Bah!!

  4. Vicki, I really like it when you take a few days off from prepping. It gives you more time to read about the luna-ticks and leftists' looney logic. Then suddenly, out pops a dang great rant! Ok, now, you can go back to canning some chicken and stocking your shelves with staples...but, easy does it.

I'm about to begin snappin'some beans so I can get them in my pressure canner...silly me. CW

    1. CW...This one has been perking for a while. Sometime it is just necessary to drag my soapbox out, dust it off and climb aboard. I think what irritates me the most is that those elites think I am too stupid to know what they are selling is pure BS. They don't really care about gun control unless it is banning all firearms. They could care less about immigrants except for their votes. They could give a rodent' behind whether we have affordable or good health care. It is the power they care about. Bunch of hypocrites. (soapbox, back to your corner now.)

Yep...silly you. Wasting all that time and energy canning beans just so your family will be fed when their socialist utopia comes crashing down around us. They are idiots.

  5. REV'RND!!!

Believe it or not though Vicki, MANY of us in, shall we say, the "occupied territories" are on the same page as Middle America. In 2016, the only news was the 5 million people in my state who voted for the Hildebeast. What was not made known was that 2.5 million people here DIDN'T vote for the broad who would be queen. We're the OLD West! As the song says, "We say grace and we say ma'am." We're here, and we're ready for what's to come. Those who believe Hollyweird and CNN, and think they can roll over us with mere words, do so at their own peril...

    1. Pete...My use of the term 'Middle America' doesn't refer just to us here in fly-over country, but to all Americans who live real lives as opposed to those who are clueless and really think they are our betters. Hank Williams Jr. was pretty much spot on with that song!

I really don't think the elites grasp the meaning of what can happen if they continue down the path they have chosen. There are some who will just quietly get on the bus. But I do believe there are more of us who will not. Me...I'm just way too old and way too ornery to even consider the word 'comply.'

    1. No hair on fire here, Rob...Just a chubby granny who is really tired of those who believe themselves to be better than me thinking they have the right to dictate how I should live my life. They have no clue what life is like for me. I'm pretty sure they don't watch drug deals go down within sight of their living room windows. They are protected at all times by armed security, but would gleefully take away my right to protect myself. The bad guys have no chance to invade their homes that are behind walls and fences, but the breaking of glass in a door would give anyone access to my building. I know people who have been beaten and robbed just walking down the alley next to my home. So yeah.....if I find myself in the position of having to defend my life, I will do so. I really would like to live long enough to hold a great-grandchild in my arms.

We have stayed calm and look what happens. The left is trying to jam socialism down our throats. They want us completely compliant. They want us dependent upon the government for everything. At this point, there is very little I can actually do about it except to voice my opinions here and to hope there are enough like minded folks to take up the fight. It is either that or we eventually become Venezuela.

    2. Once again your right. The main reason we live in a small town. We hear story's around here of stupid stuff that gets underwear in a bunch, and laugh compared to city life. My oldest who lived in Orlando for 10 yrs now admits he loves the country life

    3. Rob...I wish I could be further away from the city than I am, but we play the cards we are dealt, don't we. Living where you live, you and yours have a much, much better chance of making it through really bad times than do those in the city. And the fact that you prep makes a huge difference.

      Delete
    4. My prep is more like one step forward and 3 back. My wife gets a wild idea and will toss out items a little at a time Had a nice 5 to 10 lb bag corn meal she pitched it. it was over a year pass expire date.

She asked about bread flour, I did but you went on a cookie making spree. Things like that. I may have to clean out storage totes and hide stuff from her.

      Delete
    5. Rob...I know you are aware that many items are good long after the 'use by' date. I am using flour and corn meal that are probably 6 years old. I just take them out of the paper or cardboard containers and put them into freezer bags and store those in totes or buckets. Bugs like paper. If it looks good and smells good, I use it.

I don't know anything about bread flour. I use all purpose flour for everything. Good luck with convincing Debbie to keep things longer. I don't doubt that she fears poisoning your family by using out of date food. That is to her credit.

  12. You really hit this one out of the ballpark. Unfortunately, I think a little differently. I think there is no way our country will turn around. That's just not the way history usually goes. There are so many truly wicked people. So I pray to learn as much as I can, prepare as well as possible, and teach all who are willing to listen. One day at a time, one step at a time, and grateful for each additional day of indoor plumbing, hot showers, and electricity.

    1. Jennifer, I don't and won't give up easily. Like Vicki, I try to remain hopeful, however I am also a realist. I have been following the horrific conditions in Venezuala...hey, where is the news on that now? I have also been following the Hong Kong/China protests for weeks. It is my belief that between now and the election we are going to see extreme civil unrest, violence, and possible assassinations. It is going to be a very dangerous time for the citizens of our country. If one "chooses" to ignore the fact that evil people are threatening the very existence of this nation, the consequences will be severe. It is way past anything I would call normal. We must do all that we are able to do in preparation. Thank you for doing your part by sharing valuable information. CW

    2. Jennifer...I guess I am the eternal optimist. Even though I have long since given up on our government doing anything remotely sensible, I have faith in our people. Granted, evil has spread more than I ever thught possible. But there are still many of us who believe in what is good and right and true. And I seriously doubt that we will go quietly.

The left calls us white supremacists. We aren't. We are just everyday folks trying to live good and productive lives with as little government interference as possible, and they can't stand that because they have no real power over us. We are called racist, but in truth, we are not. Most of us don't care if a person's skin is white, black, brown, green or purple. As Martin Luther King said, it is the content of their character that is important. But the term 'racist' is bandied about because they want us divided. We are strong when united. Divided, not so much.

I am not ready to give up on my homeland. I have given up on politicians, but I will never, ever give up on the people.

    3. I think that the differences in our outlook may be attributed a bit to where we live. My family and I lived in Missouri, about a half hour north of Kansas City, for five years. The people there and our experiences there were a lot different than what we have seen in California and Nevada. Different worlds, you might say.

I also do a lot of family history. My oldest son, for his Eagle Scout project, compiled an obituary database of obituaries clipped from Reno, Nevada, newspapers from the 1900s to 1950s. People who came to Reno at that time we quite often were coming to disappear. Some were running away from families. Anyway, to a large extent people here do not get to know neighbors. They don't build the community. I have never in my life had a conversation with a complete stranger in the grocery stores out here. And yet, it happened to me quite a bit in Missouri. There were churches everywhere there. Everybody went, and you knew who went to what church to some extent. Stores were closed on Sundays.

Without a strong, conservative community, I think the Leftists take over. Fifteen years ago, we had decided to let our oldest go to public school for high school. However, the honors history and English classes wanted to show R-rated movies as part of their curricula. If the student didn't watch the movies, the grade was lowered, even though officially the movies weren't required. None of the supposedly conservative parents objected. They just said you had to go along if you didn't want your child to have problems there. We quit right then and there. Three years ago our piano teacher stopped giving lessons as she had to start homeschooling her oldest, a kindergardener, immediately. One of the other children in that class was no longer to be called "Johnny" because he was becoming a she. I don't know how much of this garbage happens in flyover country (not meant in a derogatory sense at all--we're hoping to relocate there ourselves ASAP).

Oh, and another thing about our geographical differences that I think influences our thinking. In your part of the world, you can see farms, ranches, dairies--places where real people work and grow the food for our country. And you can see when those fields are not planted and you are more likely to hear from family farmers losing their farms. But on the Left Coast and in the cities, people are far removed from that. There are a few small farms and ranches about an hour south of us, but for the most part people here don't think about where their food comes from. And even though California produces a whole lot of food, most of that production is far away from the liberal stronghold cities.

So I'm not pessimistic about real Americans fighting the fight. I just don't see too many real Americans in my part of the world. My husband, who is far more optimistic, also sees that things have changed in our state and that the handwriting is on the wall. There are far too few people who share our values and for the safety of our family, we need to move to a more conservative area. So in that sense, we are giving up. We can't expect to change minds. But at the same time, we recognize that there are good places to raise a family. We just aren't there yet.

      Delete
    4. Jennifer...I think you are right about different parts of our country being worlds apart. Having lived in Missouri for a few years, I understand exactly the kind of atmosphere you are talking about. It is much the same as the rural area in Minnesota where I grew up. There are still places like those - we just need to look for them.

If I had kids in school now, I believe I would home school. As it is, three of my grands are still in school. My son and daughter-in-law keep pretty good tabs on what is being taught and so far there have been no major problems or I would have heard about it. They hold many of the same values as I do. But I can't speak for inner city schools. For all I know, they may be different.

The differences between big city Minnesota and rural Minnesota are huge. Minneapolis is not a place I ever wish to go. In addition to the usual inner city problems, it is a decidedly left leaning city, where the outlying areas are far more conservative. Location is important.

I don't have much hope for the cities. But I think the small town and rural folks would likely fight to keep us free. The folks I know in those areas are an independent bunch and do not take kindly to government interference. I am counting on that.
