who say the debacle in Afghanistan is America's shame. It is not.
The shame falls on the heads of those leaders (and I use the term 'leaders' loosely) who ordered our troops to leave the country before evacuating our citizens and those who worked with our people.
I am pretty sure – no, I am positive – that if our soldiers were asked to volunteer to find Americans and their allies and bring them to safety, there would be more than enough to do the job.
There is a price that needs to be paid by those in charge for their stupidity and inhumanity. May the price be high and may it come swiftly.
Vicki, very well said and I agree 100%. May God be with those who were left behind. I am still hoping they will be rescued and brought home. CW
ReplyDeleteCW...There is no excuse for the way this was handled. We are praying for a good outcome for those our 'leaders' abandoned.
DeleteVicki~ I pray that everyone gets out that should get out. I also pray that anyone behind this travesty gets staked out near fire any hills and rattler dens. After being mopped down with honey and bacon grease. Red
ReplyDeleteThat works for me, Red...In addition, may they suffer the same fate as the women and girls suffer at the hands of the terrorists.
DeleteI'm sure God alone will require vengeance; the democrats won't.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Gorges...But I would not want to be the one facing the wrath of God.
Deleteonce again our godless leaders demonstrate their incredible capacity for evil Patrick
ReplyDeleteWell said, Patrick...And sadly, so very true.
DeleteAgree 100%
ReplyDeleteOne Family...There should be consequences for actions no matter how high up on the ladder a person is.
DeleteAgree 100%. Unfortunately, I have no illusions anything will actually happen to them. They may resign and take their fat pensions or take a “job” on the board of some large company. It’s a sad state we’re in, isn’t it?
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right, LTM...There are rules for you and me but they never seem to apply to the elite. Sad state of affairs.
DeleteAgreed, Vicki. May those who orchestrated this disaster share in a traitor's fate, for they are nothing less than traitors; "enemies domestic."
ReplyDeleteNote the pictures of the planeloads of fighting-age MEN leaving Kabul. What could POSSIBLY go wrong here?...
The current MSM dogma paints the Capitol rioters as "marauders," and the event as an "insurrection." My gut feeling is that history will record that event as the first volleys of a citizenry trying to replace a tyrannical government, as prescribed and protected by the Constitution...
Pete...I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of the traitors, for there is no other word to describe leaving American citizens behind to face terrorists alone.
DeleteI want to know why those first planes leaving Kabul were not filled with Americans.
As to the citizenry trying to replace a tyrannical government - it is about time!
I cannot even express how angry I am at the wickedness and evil being displayed by this administration. They are not even trying to hide their selfishness, greed, and absolute disdain for our country and its citizens.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you 100%! More than shameful!!!
Deletechipmunk...And they are totally oblivious about what they are doing to our citizens and our country. They act like nothing is wrong. Nothing matters to them except for power and greed. This will not end well, but it must end.
DeleteI'd say the shame is on the heads of ALL those who ignored 100 years of history with British and Russian attempts to impose their versions of "proper" government onto Afghanistan. A country loosely based on various tribes that hate each other except when they have a common enemy. A country that operates on bribes and payoffs. A country that hides behind religion to justify brutally squashing anything they don't approve of.
ReplyDeleteBush got us into the mess, Obama didn't do much to resolve things either way, Trump signed the deal to withdraw (IIRC, his supporters were full of "it's about time" rhetoric). Biden is carrying out that deal. However, the intelligence failures under both Trump and Biden administrations, and lack of will by the Afghan military & police turned the withdrawal into a shit show far faster than most thought it would. Instead of going to the Taliban in the predicted 18-ish months, it happened in weeks, then in days for the last few cities. I have to wonder if Trump were still president and this fiasco happened, what would his supporters be saying?
Where were the women, girls, and children in those photos of plane loads being evacuated? Oh - that's right - hiding in their homes, fearing to go out of the house to their jobs, schools, or to escape, abandoned by their "men". They are facing a horrific future. The only ones I don't' blame - the boots on the ground personnel that have been following orders, trying to hold things together, and train the Afghan military, for the last 20 years. I feel for their dismay and "what the hell was it all for?!" questions.
JustGail...From everything I have read, previous administrations had plans to get out of Afghanistan. Those plans were to first evacuate American citizens and their Allies as well as those natives who helped our people. The second step was to remove as much equipment as possible and to destroy what couldn't be moved to keep them out of enemy hands. And our soldiers were to come out last.
DeleteBiden did everything ass backwards, causing what we are witnessing now. Granted, other administrations could have and should have carried out the plans to get out, but they didn't. That is on them. But this particular cluster is on Biden. And there needs to be consequences.
Looks like your "We're on our own" post went down the rabbit hole, Vicki. It's not showing.
ReplyDeletePete...I deleted it. I am of two minds on this. Part of me wants to scream and rant at the injustice of it all and then there is the part that would rather not be on some government list. I value your opinion if you would care to share.
DeletePete...Never mind. I will shortly upload another post. Guess I am hard wired to speak out no matter what.
DeleteVicki~ I went into my local market early this morning. No mask. Half the people were not wearing masks. They had boneless strip steaks for $5.00 a pound and a special price of $3.77 if you clipped the coupon. I saw some holes but not too many. One shopper was telling her husband they could get some of the meat another day. I said get it now. wrap it on foil, vacuum seal it, date it and freeze it. Might not be available later. Same with the butter that was on sale.
ReplyDeleteI'm outright done with all the Fear mongering. The various KILLER Variants that "YOU WILL ALL DIE IF YOU DON'T BOW DOWN TO ME NOW!" Take the Jabs of bovine excrement being badly shoveled.
There are worse diseases out there. Ebola for one. Were someone to get their nasty greedy hands on the last smallpox samples and whip something up in one of the labs for fun and profit. Not many people have been vaccinated for the Pox as it was driven out of existence decades ago. People need to be their Own Hero. Look to Yourselves. Americans are a Tough Righteous People that have overcome, can overcome and shall overcome anything. So take your spines off the hanger and out of the closet, strap them back on and take back this Nation!
I need to get some seeds started. ~Red Out
Red...Excellent advice about buying meat now. Between shortages of product and the truck drivers to deliver, it is anybody's guess what will make it onto store shelves. My grocery deliver service is every two weeks. I am in the process of not only stocking up on sale items I can use, but also canning freezer meat between orders so I have room to order more each time. I am at the point right now where I don't care if I have to stack cases of food in the middle of my living room. Between shortages and rising prices, now is not the time to slow down.
DeleteI will admit to nearly giving in and going quiet. Might have made for a more peaceful life. But I found I just can not sit down and shut up like the powers that be would like to have us do. Nothing will ever change if we don't work at it. Take good care, my friend.
