Behind the Scenes

Earlier this evening I watched a video from "Appalachia's Homestead with Patara."  Here is the link:

Texas Trucker Convoy & "Patriots" Bullying other Patriots? (youtube.com)

Patara makes a good point.  Why are there efforts NOW to slow down the invasion crossing our southern border?  Why not 1 - 2 - 3 years ago?  The border crossings were just as illegal back then as now.  So why wait so long before taking a stand?

I'm not bashing Texas.  I am grateful that someone is at least doing something to help alleviate the situation.  But what I wonder is - while all eyes are on Texas and while eyes are on the cross country Trucker's Convoy taking place - what are politicians trying to sneak past us?  You know they are.  Why else would they be working on a new law when there are already laws on the books regulating immigration.

Me...I don't trust a single politician any further than I can toss them.

I'm thinking that if we haven't been spending time in prayer, perhaps now is the time.  This whole situation does not bode well for the average citizen.  The only help we are going to get will come from above.

  1. Because now is an election year....I've gotten to the point where all politicians are the same, no matter what letter they put after their name

    1. One Family...Seems to me I might have a better opinion if just one of them could honestly show me that the problems of the average citizen are as important to them as reelection is. Sadly, I just don't see that happening.

  2. There quite a few in Texas that don't think Abbot acted fast enough, is complicit in some of the World Order attempts to control the United States, and wonder if much of this is all theater.

I was along the border near Del Rio two years ago. I didn't see large crowds of illegals, but did see a sign in Bracketville, Texas that warned busses were not to stop at the store where I was getting coffee. I do know that area is one of the most hostile environments for humans in the United States. Attempting to cross the arid land without water is a death sentence.

    1. Jess...I lived for a short time south of Dallas. That does not make me an expert on Texas. All I know is that something just doesn't add up.

If an honest effort is being made to stem the illegal flow across the border - wonderful. If this is a giant effort for politicians to use at election time or if this is a distraction (oh, look - squirrel), then a pox on them all.

      Guess time will tell.

  3. There are two reasons for the current "effort" to slow down the invasion crossing our southern border. For one, it's an election year. There's an old bumper sticker out there that says "Jesus is coming! LOOK BUSY!" That's where our politicians are at right now. The other reason is that enough water has entered the ship to sink it. Nothing anyone at this point will change anything, so the members of the Uniparty are free to "look busy." They're literally rearranging the deck chairs on Titanic. ...BOTH sides of the aisle lost my trust a long, long, time ago...

As far as the trucker convoy is concerned, anyone planning on participating should do so with great caution. The current regime would like NOTHING BETTER than another "insurrection" right before a major election. Leave your cell phones SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Turning them off is NOT ENOUGH! Unless you can REMOVE THE BATTERY, they're still pinging the towers even when powered down. Also, for the information of anyone thinking of participating in California at the San Ysidro border crossing, know that the state has been going hell's bells on installing "license plate reader" cameras just about EVERYWHERE "for your safety..."

Bible, open, powder dry, Vicki... You've already got the "larder deep" park down!

    1. Pete...I think you are spot on. I can think of no good reason to trust any of them. Especially since there are folks rotting in jail because of the Jan 6 "insurrection" that wasn't.

There is no such thing as privacy any more. One day last week (about 1 PM) I was talking to one of my home health nurses. We were discussing the fact that my oldest son had diabetes and at that time before his death, the price of insulin was outrageous. By 3 PM, the ads coming up on my computer were about diabetes meds. I'm about ready to start communicating with pencil and paper.

Don't trust any of them. Don't care what party they belong to. Just want to be left alone by any government entity.

    2. I'm a telecom tech in my company's IT department. We were discussing how our phones were listening to us and decided to try an experiment. We started talking about something that for us was totally off the wall; funeral homes and funeral choices. After a few minutes we all went back to our offices to find that ads for funeral services were showing up on our phones AND our computers!! The damned phones put our phones together with our names and somehow ferried the info to our WORK computer accounts!

Anyone who tells you that "Alexa" and "Hey Google" don't start listening until they hear "Alexa" or "Hey Google" is not up to speed. After all, if they're not listening until one of these prompts is said, how does it know you just said it?...

    3. Pete...I am not at all surprised. I think everything electronic listens to us and then informs those in charge of advertising. I don't have a cell phone. I have a house phone that is several years old. I don't have a TV - smart or otherwise. What I do have is a desktop computer that is several years old and a laptop a little over a year old.

Doesn't seem to matter what I do - talk in person, talk by phone or by email. If anything marketable is discussed, the ads show up.

I once, not long ago, talked out loud to myself about a purple people eater. Remember the song? Showed up in a playlist.

      Bastards!

    4. I've got another one for you, Pete...My youngest grandson just got his driver's license. There has been talk at the kitchen table, talk on the phone and talk on FaceTime calls - all about the kind of car my grandson wants versus what he can afford and what his parents will allow.

Sure enough. In my mail today were letters. One had to do with a car warranty. Another was for car insurance. Both were addressed to me.

      Thing is - I haven't owned a car for over 10 years.

Wish I could figure a way to wreck their morning cornflakes!

  4. I wondered the same and figure this is a very opportunistic situation. You can just predict the stupid now. I just pray cooler heads will prevail and people will be safe.

    1. Mandy...I hadn't thought about it, but you are right. The stupid has become predictable, hasn't it! My guess is that the opposing sides will call each other names for a while and then it will all blow over when they find something else to distract us with. Sigh.
