I Am Encouraged...

when I see four of my grandchildren sitting on the floor, playing a board game, talking and laughing with one another...

and not a cell phone in sight.  There may yet be hope.

  1. Oh yes, I'd say there is definite hope in that scene :)

  3. Dani...When I see the kids engaged in something like this, it makes my heart happy.

  4. Rob...I think these kids have a fighting chance. Both the girls have cell phones, but without internet and with restrictions. For instance, yesterday I told the girls I had posted a picture of them on my blog. The oldest wanted to borrow her Dad's phone to see it. He said "No." She could see it when they got home. Both their parents kept their phones in their pockets. Our family talks to each other. In person. I love that.

  5. Nice looking kids. It must be fun to have them come visit. Mine never got to visit their grandma on my side, because my mom lives on the other side of the county. But they had a grandma on their mothers side just an hour away.

  6. Thanks, Harry. I am really lucky that three of my Grands live less than an hour away, one in the same town and the other two about 15 minutes away. Which is why, I guess, that I continue to live in the frozen north. They are so much fun to be with. I wouldn't have it any other way.
