My Son...

left his home in Minnesota this morning.  He checked in via Facebook from the other side of Omaha this afternoon.  I pray that he has a safe trip and finds what he is looking for at his destination in Phoenix.

Even though I want happiness and contentment and all good things for him, my heart hurts a little.

  4. The drive so far has been very nice. The truck is running like a dream. The trailer follows straight and true. I made it to Kearny, Nebraska today. Relaxing in a hotel room with some popcorn and a diet coke. Love you lots, Mom.

  5. Duane...I don't care how old her kids are, Moms worry. It's our job! Glad to hear everything is going well. Thanks for checking in. Makes me feel lots better. I love you, too, Son!

  6. Vicki, worry is an art, and you're an artist. The worrying is never finished.

  7. Dana...I suppose some would think it silly to worry about your kids when they are all well into middle age, but I'm afraid I'm just not wired that way. I worry about them and about friends and about my fur buddies. Not to the point of driving myself nuts over it, but if you love, you worry. I guess my inner Pollyanna just wants everybody to be healthy and happy.

  9. Aw...thank you, Mary. I was having a poor pitiful me moment earlier this evening, but after he checked in and I knew the trip was going just fine, it was better. I got spoiled with him popping in now and then. I think I will miss that the most.

  10. Our son left home to go to the UK in 2004 for 2 years - I know EXACTLY how you feel. Take it easy on yourself.

  11. Dani...We want our children close by, don't we. I have to remind myself that he's not going to the end of the earth - just to the other side of the country! It will be OK.
