Doesn't seem to matter how many times I click my heels together or wish upon a star, winter is headed our way anyway.
When I was a kid, about the time the snow started to fall, Mom made me wear a suit of underwear.
Complete with the trap door in the back. It was red in color and hot and scratchy. I hated wearing it, even as a very small child.
The signs are all pointing toward a harsh winter. I'm thinking that a red flannel union suit isn't such a dumb idea after all. :)

Winter weather has started even in the South. Temperatures are more like December, than early November.
ReplyDeleteIts about to get real bad around here, 8 to 12 inches. Can you say demodulation derby time for Monday on the roads. I remember those red clothes, but at Disney World on the mine rides. They would fade them by leaving them in the hot sun. Glad you are ready for winter.
ReplyDeleteJess...The first really cold spell of winter always seems worse than it is. Probably because we want the warmer weather to last just a little bit longer.
ReplyDeleteRob...Bemidji has a web cam by the Paul Bunyan and Babe statues. I checked it a few minutes ago and looks like a couple of inches of snow there already. The weather channel radar has it moving our way. I'm sure glad I don't have to go out.
ReplyDeleteThe storm we will get starts tomorrow night. Heavy Wet. With arctic chill behind it. This stuff will last until spring. Looks like 6 months of winter.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like the farmers almanac was right about this winter. How bad it will be, I suppose we just have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteHarry...Seems like the Farmer's Almanac is usually close to being spot on. I don't pay much attention to the local forecasters. To hear them tell, each and every snowflake turns into the storm of the century. I learn more by listening to the scanner. Local law calls out their weather spotters and I can follow their reports to tell what kind of storm is headed toward me. But mostly, in the winter, I just wait to see what happens. I don't have to go anywhere for supplies, so I can just sit by the window and watch everything turn white!
