looked out the window. There is no smoke from burning cities. There are no masked antifa gangs marching in the streets. As far as I can tell, nobody is rioting. Guess the Moms of these deluded wanna be gangsters wouldn't let their progeny leave their basement bedrooms long enough to carry on their revolution. Sigh.
On another sad note...evil has again reared its ugly head in the form of the massacre of the congregation in a small church in Texas. Right on cue, the anti-gun politicians are touting their beliefs before the bodies have even cooled. The pundits are busy speculating about motive before we even know who is responsible. I will wait for the facts before holding forth on the who and why. Until then, the only thing we can do is pray for the families of the dead and for the recovery of those wounded. And for our country, where this kind of thing seems to be happening way too often.

I guess Trump had something to do with shutting off the Saudi money that Soros was distributing. Since there were no free buses and they weren't going to be paid, most didn't show up. There's a big shake-up going on in Saudi Arabia, in case you haven't heard.
ReplyDeleteGorges...I have read just a little bit about the shakeup going on with the Saudi's, but hadn't really gotten into it much past the headlines. It would make sense that if the 'protesters' weren't paid, they would just stay home. I saw very little news coverage about their 'revolution,' so I had hopes that folks were just tired of their stupidity.
DeleteI didn't turn on the radio or TV most of the weekend...definitely felt the need for a break from the news cycle. Late last night, however I did check the news to see what had happened with regard to the hoodlums and their scheduled revolutionary activities, but was pleasantly surprised when I didn't find much. Today, I busied myself with making a couple of meals and baking for the week ahead. I was totally content with my own thoughts in my own little world. Then my son stopped and asked if I had heard about this morning's shooting in Texas. It surely did bring me back to reality! Vicki, I'm so torn between wanting to stay informed and yet not wanting to be over saturated with the nastiness of today's world events. I'm with you...all we can do is pray...for our country, the victims, and families affected. CWfromIowa
ReplyDeleteCW...Sometimes I read the news reports and other times I just glance at the headlines. I spent the better part of the weekend sewing so I didn't pay all that much attention. I did check the scanner and the local news a couple of times because I live within maybe 40 miles from where the thugs were planning a rally, but there was nothing going on at either source.
DeleteI did follow the news about the shooting in Texas until the gun control people began spouting their usual blather and until the 'experts' began speculating about motives. All the motives in the world are not going to do anything now for the victims.
I feel like I need to stay informed and know what is going on in the world. But the vast amount of evil out there is enough to take us down if we let it. I guess all I can do is continue with my life and with the things that make me happy - sewing - crocheting - canning, etc. If I spent my time dwelling on the horror, I think I would wind up in a padded room, wearing a huggy jacket, sitting in a rocking chair and just rocking back and forth, back and forth. :)
I read about this last night. And, as we went to the movies as a family event, I saw they don't allow CCW's. So, my thoughts are? Are the places that refusing to allow people to carry being targeted for these mass shootings? Hm. I do believe so. My husband said he read that church did not allow any one to carry. Scary stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, Kristina, the refusal to allow people to carry in any public setting is an open invitation to any nutcase with a gun. Or a knife. Or a bomb. It doesn't take a genius to know that there will be nobody who can stop them from murdering as many as possible. Might just as well slap a target on the backs of all school children, of all members of church congregations, of theater attendees, of nightclub partiers, etc.
DeleteAt the same time, you can bet your bottom dollar that the ones screaming the loudest about the need for gun control (read that " We want to take away your guns") are the same ones who go nowhere without their armed bodyguards.
I'm not watching much TV news at this point. So your post here was the first I had heard about the TX shooting. I jumped to google and searched. Found a post by CNN that said a neighbor to the church heard the shots being fired, grabbed his rifle and took on the shooter. The shooter fled and the neighbor and another passerby chased the shooter in their car and let the police know where they were. Yea for the 2nd amendment and American heroes! Now let's sit back and see if the MSM picks up that part of the story.
ReplyDeleteSJ
SJ...If I watch any news it usually is Fox and I catch that on my computer. Seems to me that the other news sources are so busy bashing Trump that they have little time for anything else.
DeleteI did watch the reports of the shooting until the gun control crowd chimed in before the bodies had cooled and when the so-called experts started guessing the shooter's motive. I will wait a few days until the facts come out.
I did see an interview with the neighbor who shot at the killer and apparently hit him and then, along with another neighbor, chased him down. Nice to know, like you say, we still have heroes!
It is getting so crazy out there, SJ. Sometimes I am glad I rarely leave the house.
Another senseless act where I have no words.
ReplyDeleteJenn...I don't understand that kind of hatred. I just don't.
DeleteThe carnage would have been greater, an armed citizen hadn't started firing back. At that time, the cowardly punk fled, after dropping his rifle.
ReplyDeleteI doubt the family of the shooter lives in a vacuum. If they're in the community, their welcome will fade, if they attempt to defend their family member; who was on psychiatric medications since his teenage years.
Jess...The two citizens who stopped this mad man deserve hero status. Sadly, the gun grabbers among us don't see it that way.
DeleteIf the shooter's family did not know how dangerous he was, then I feel sorry for them, for their lives will never be the same. But if they knew and did nothing, then they have the blood of the victims on their hands as well.
Good Lord, Jess...how did we get to a place where this kind of evil roams the earth and nobody notices.
