finishing up afghans. Takes time to crochet several rows around them, one being 81 inches square and the other 60 inches square, but hope to have pictures within a day or two.
Depending on which weather forecast we listen to, we could get anywhere from an inch of snow up to a foot of the white stuff overnight. I love the way they hedge their bets.
Not much else going on here. Just a quick post to let you all know I am still upright and taking nourishment. Be back soon.

That "50 percent accuracy" the forecasters claim is the part where they report current conditions. The forecast itself is anybody's guess; it's just too bad they get paid so much for being wrong.
ReplyDeleteRev. Paul...You are spot on. I think it is funny the way the forecasters trot out their computer generated models and tell us this is what will happen, when in all reality, they don't know any more than we do. I think my grandparents could forecast weather better just by reading the signs in nature.
DeleteSounds like you have 100% chance of weather, Vicki. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa!! You are right, Gorges. But just what kind of weather that will be is likely decided by a coin toss. :)
DeleteLooking forward to the pictures.
ReplyDeleteBack from a week off of all electronics and a very fun week visiting a long time friend. We mostly visited, watched old tv shows and ate what we wanted. Only cooking once for dinner and most breakfasts. Ha!
Picked up the dog yesterday at 'camp' and he also seems to have had a fine time.
When I came out of the grocery store yesterday it was hailing! More hail at dinner time. Crazy spring weather here.
Cheers, SJ
SJ...Sounds like you and Dog had a wonderful time. Good for you! Sometimes we just need to let the world go on by without us, and spending that time with friends is priceless.
DeleteWe usually don't see hail until summer. Mother Nature must be throwing a hissy fit in your neck of the woods. Here the forecast was for snow - up to a foot of the stuff. We saw nary a flake, which suits me just fine. Those who have to fight icy roads to get to and from work were even more pleased.
Pictures soon. I finished Zach's afghan yesterday and should be able to finish mine today. Then a break from crocheting. I think I am getting a bit burned out with it. Time to do something else for a while.
Good to hear from you.
Seems like the snow is never ending!!! Take care Vicki, see you soon!
ReplyDeleteJenn...The storm yesterday missed us but now they say we might have more snow in a couple of days. Even though I don't have to go out in it, I'm still tired of winter. I want Spring with lilacs and daffodils - mostly lilacs. :) Hope winter is leaving your neck of the woods, making travel easier to photograph those wonderful abandoned buildings!
DeleteWe got a true hailstorm here that tore up and flooded Walmart and quite a few homes and other businesses. Some still have not opened yet. Some homes were so damaged by baseball sized hail that their whole home had all roof and ceilings damaged. All walls and carpets and furniture were destroyed. Over 300 cars at one car lot had all the windows blown out by hail. WM destroyed over $700,000 worth of merchandise damaged by storm.
ReplyDeleteLinda...I read your account of the hail storm on your blog. I am astounded at the amount of damage it caused. We get hail in the summertime here, but I can't ever remember it being that bad. Glad the damage at your house was minimal.
