This is the same corner as the picture Duane took this morning. By 5 pm visibility was down to near zero.
The ditches along the freeway are full of vehicles. Duane was listening to the scanner and heard about a car stuck in the snow in the middle of the street just a few blocks away.
I believe hot chocolate and a warm green fuzzy blanket are in my future for this evening. And a prayer for the police and first responders who have to be out in this mess.

A fellow blogger up in Saskatchewan would normally be planning his spring plowing by now, but he's having the same kind of weather you are.
ReplyDeleteGorges...It has been a really strange Spring here and no doubt those folks north of us are not having an easy time of it, especially the farmers Snowfall records for the month of April are being shattered today. Flights in and out of Minneapolis airport have been cancelled. South of us the plows have been pulled off the roads due to snow and high winds. It is just crazy.
DeleteThanks for sharing the pictures. What a change in just a few hours. The first photo shows a very cute neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather here as well. Walked out to hail on Friday at lunch time. Then big rains through last night. This morning it's only cloudy but looks like we'll get more rain later.
Stay safe and cozy.

SJ...The downtown area where I live retains it's old timey flavor with the mostly old buildings from the 1800's. The new buildings have been built to fit in. Most of the businesses have moved to the edge of town after the freeway was built. If I have to live in a town, this one is OK.
DeleteThe snow kept on most of the night along with the wind. We wound up with about a foot of snow. The sun is shining today which gives me hope, although they are talking about the possibility of more snow by Wednesday. One of my daughters called me this morning to wish me a "Merry Christmas." Her sense of humor is alive and well. :)
Crazy weather! we are Winnipeg Jets fans so have been hearing more about the weather there during the playoffs!
ReplyDeleteJenn...It is insane! We should be mowing lawns by now, not shoveling snow. Our fishing season opens in May. I heard today that it is doubtful the ice will be off the lakes by then. Sigh.
DeleteWow, that is a change. I am glad you don't have to go out. I found a volunteer yellow tulip today. It is so warm and dry right now, that I wore a short sleeve and sandals. Our spring keeps coming and going. It was 80 one day and 40 the next. But, temps are up today and going up more in the coming days. I am glad you have a green fuzzy blanket. Mine comes in handy at night.
ReplyDeleteLinda...I think it will be a while before we see tulips here. And sandals here are sure to give us frozen toes!
DeleteWe have one more snow storm headed our way, but not nearly as bad as this last one. Then the temps will be getting warmer. My green fuzzy blanket has been getting a workout. :)
