Interesting Turn of Events

So Wednesday this week one of the nurses arrived to deal with my legs.  She was feeling a bit under the weather and said she thought she had walking pneumonia.  She was wearing a mask and gloves.  I didn't think too much about it as I have the pneumonia shot that works well, keeping me free from even a bad cold.

Turns out she was wrong.  The company she works for sent her to be tested for COVID-19.  She tested positive.

I emailed my grocery delivery service to let them know that I have been exposed.  It is only fair that I tell them.  Whether they will continue to deliver groceries remains to be seen.  It is no big deal if they don't.  I have enough food put back to last a very long time.

I have called Duane to tell him to stay away for a while.  He starts a new full-time job tomorrow and the last thng he needs is to get sick.

I feel fine.  Today has been a rest day for me due to nothing more than arthritis that has decided to kick my backside.  My own fault. I should know better than to move furniture by myself.

Maybe I will get the virus.  But maybe I won't.  That's in God's hands.  Being under quarantine is nothing new.  I have been pretty much housebound for the past 5 years.  A few more weeks are nothing at all.

This in no way changes my belief that we need to open up our country again.  More harm is being caused with people hiding in their homes and not being out in fresh air and sunshine.  And not being at their jobs.

Keep on prepping.  I would not want to be stuck with nothing to eat.  And if I didn't have extra coffee stored, then you would see really cranky!!

  2. That is really a shame! It seems people even feeling under the weather should not be going into seniors' homes.

    1. Thank you, Gorges. I suppose because my county has so few cases of the virus and only 1 death, perhaps they didn't think it necessary. Nothing I can do about it now - God's got this one.

  6. Ah crap! Pardon my language Vicki. See if you can get some zinc and take it daily. Keep a daily log and note any changes. Ask for help and do not wait until you are not capable to make your needs and wants known. Lord watch over you Vicki. Stay healthy and safe. Red

    1. Selenium 200 mug per day or two Brazil nuts per day
If selenium is in your supplements do not add any more
Also elderberry syrup. Box tells you the dose

    1. Thank you, Fern...I have just been exposed. That doesn't mean that I have it. Will just have to wait and see what happens. But I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon. :)

    2. Good morning, Vicki. How are you doing today?

I don't have many plans. Need to kill a few weeds in the garden.

Glad you have your kids close by. That is a blessing.

All is well so far. No symptoms at all. Feeling good - still my normal ornery self. :) It is heartwarming that so many have sent good wishes. I am blessed!

    6. "Normal onery self" (-:

My 'normal' response to many people when they ask how I'm doing is,"Onery as ever".........

Good to hear! Keep it up and enjoy making those quilts. Fill them full of blessings and love. It's a great thing to pass on to those wonderful babes.

    7. Fern...I knew a lady who worked as a waitress at a small restaurant I frequented. When asked how she was, her stock answer was "Mean." I haven't reached that place as yet, so 'ornery' will have to do. :)
Right now I am busy reorganizing my food storage area to try to make room for more. I think by the time all is said and done, we will need every crumb. But once this project is finished, the quilt making will commence.
Take good care - both of you.

    1. Thanks, sbrgirl. Good on you for the canning. Even though it takes time, meat is one of the best things to have on your shelves. It is so nice to be able to open a jar of fully cooked meat to use for a meal. I have to keep adding to mine because I use it so often. Keep up the good work!!
