I Know What We Need

I check out the news because I need to know what the enemy is up to.

I see gangs of kids hauling off merchandise from stores without paying for it.

I see elected officials sending billions of dollars to fund a war that is none of our business.

I see women marching in the street to have the right to kill their unborn babies.

I see an administration that has already declared war on vehicles fueled by gas and diesel, kitchen stoves fueled by gas, the kind of light bulbs we have used for decades and ceiling fans, announce that now, when winter is approaching, we need to get rid of gas furnaces and switch to all electric.

And I see an entire generation - maybe more - who have no idea whatsoever might be the right bathroom to use.  Who believe lipstick and dresses have the power to turn men into women.

I know what we need.

We need to bring back the generations who knew how to recognize right from wrong.  We need to bring back our ancestors who believed in consequences for actions.  Most of all, we need to bring God back into every part of our lives.

And a Grandpa with a switch to tear up the backside of a miscreant kid might not be such a bad idea either.

  1. Sounds to me like these things you are seeing is what the far right media and MAGA politicians are telling you to see.

    1. I'm seeing PLENTY of this with my own eyes, RJW...

  2. If you had even the slightest understanding of what I - and those who visit here - are about, you would know that nobody tells us what to see - what to think - what to do. What you describe is directly from the far left playbook.

    1. The light bulb ordeal goes back to GWB. The present administration has never endorsed taking away gas stoves. The abortion fight has been going on for over 50 years. Switching over to EVs has been a world wide initiative and an evolving automotive manufacturing strategy that’s was in the works well before this administration. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is not the cut and dry meme that you seem to imply but rather a situation with credible arguments for our support coming from both sides of the political aisle.

Perhaps you’re more apolitical than I though and you scrutinize political sound bites more than I gave you credit for and for that I apologize. It’s just that your list of all the woes in the world with a finger pointing at the present leadership as the culprit sounded more like someone who’s been glued to Fox News and listening nonstop to Ted Cruz.

    2. Nice try, but it changes my opinion not one little bit. I don't mind differing opinions for I believe in freedom of speech. However, this is my playground and I will not tolerate arguments or debates. You can go away now.

    3. CFL bulbs were a MANDATE of the OBAMA administration. He had to backtrack on the mandate because CFL's just plain SUCKED.

Biden IS coming after ANYTHING that heats with natural gas. In fact, he just finalized his "efficiency standards" which will essentially MANDATE electric... EVERYTHING...

The abortion issue HAS been going on for fifty years, and TAXPAYER DOLLARS have been handed out to women who want to kill their unborn children SINCE that time. Uh... NO!

EV's aren't "evolving." They're being MANDATED and SUBSIDIZED into existence. This is NOT evolution!

Russia and Ukraine have been going at it since the Middle Ages. This is NOT our fight!

As long as Biden keeps committing HIGH TREASON against the United States, I'll keep pointing my finger at him and his "administration." For the record, that finger is getting cramps from overuse...

    4. Thank you, Pete. I am way too tired this evening to put up a good argument. Every word is golden...and TRUE!!

    1. OK. Now I can't be mad at you. It's that sense of humor thing. And just for the record, I don't agree with Ted Cruz on much of what he says. I just wish that those on your side and those on my side could get together and fix some of the rot in DC.

  4. On its current path, our country will fail, Vicki. Everything that's going on is a symptom of a dying society.

...God is our only hope at this point...

We're not voting our way out of this...

    1. Pete...The politicians - all of them - can claim whatever they think will get them votes. It won't help. It won't fix anything. As far as I can see, preparing and praying are the only choices left. God help us. Please.

    2. I’ve come to the same conclusion, Pete. I just don’t see any civil, relatively peaceful way out of this.

  5. Common sense is not so common anymore. I say all the time I don't know what world I am living in anymore.

  6. Mandy...I think common sense left the building years ago. You are spot on. The world around us is totally unfamiliar as well as being more dangerous than I have ever seen. Take care.

  7. I used to say "common sense is now a super-power to those who still have it" - but I think I've changed my mind.

The past 2-3 years I've realized it's "critical thinking skills" we as society now lack. I stand almost gap-mouthed watching people refuse to use any critical thinking skills.

Mer...Seems to me we could use a healthy dose of both. Like Pinball ( Pinball Preparedness on You Tube) is fond of saying, "People can't think beyond the end of their nose."

Not surprising as those in charge prefer a population that blindly follows along, never questioning anything. Guess they will be disappointed that some of us question whatever they think we should do!
