Sunshine

The temperature is 58 degrees.  The sun is shining.  The snow is nearly all melted.  The windows in my apartment are open enough to let in some of that wonderful fresh warm air.  Just came back from a stroll around my neighborhood.  Folks are smiling.  Waving to one another.  Talking about how glad they are that the winter seems to be over.

I am so looking forward to getting out and about tomorrow without having to wear a stocking hat and mittens.  Or worry about slipping on the ice.  Or frostbite.

It is amazing what a bit of sunshine and warmth can do for one's outlook.

  1. Nice day here in West Virginia, too. The Mighty Dachshund and I enjoyed a little walk in the warmth.

  2. Gorges.....Jessie Jane enjoyed a walk in the sunshine with me. Lily came outside too, but she refuses to walk on a leash. So we just sat on a bench and smiled a lot. Next up - lilacs!

  5. That's good to hear. The warmth and sun on a Spring day are better than any other time of year.

  6. Jess.....Yep. Especially when a couple of days ago I was watching the snow pile up. Today was pure bliss.

  7. You know spring is here when you see folks out riding motorcycles.

  9. It's raining here in North Georgia. We are expecting a serious storm coming up out of the Gulf, with high winds and up to 8 inches of rain through Monday night. Seems like it's out of the frying pan and into the fire here all the time.

  10. Harry.....Seems like it is always something with Mother Nature. She just can't seem to let us enjoy nice weather without throwing a storm into the works.

I'm not crazy about the damage storms can do, but at the same time I love to watch the storm clouds and lightning. Comes from watching storms roll across the prairie when I was a kid. Dad and I spent a lot of time on our front porch watching summer storms.
