Still At It

The crochet hook is still flying.  Or maybe at this point I should say the yarn needle is working overtime.  I am in the process of sewing all the granny squares together and when that task is finished there are a couple rows of crochet around each afghan to finish them off with a border.

In the meantime, I just couldn't resist testing out the new yarn for Boston's graduation afghan.

I will put this one together in a checkerboard pattern.  I like it.  I hope Boston likes it too.

And now I'm off to catch up on the homemaker stuff that has been neglected while I have been playing with yarn.  I have  a friend who teased me that I did my laundry only when I ran out of clean knickers.  That was before I bought my apartment size washer and dryer and had to trudge up and down two flights of stairs to wash my clothes.  I am a bit embarrassed to say that this time she isn't all that far from the truth, and me with no excuse other than I have been having fun instead of doing chores.

Can't say I feel sorry for that.  :)

    1. That's funny, Gorges. And likely close to being true. :)

  2. I have so many pair of underwear that I rarely run out of clean ones. However, when I had the flu, that happened. It was scary. I do love those colors. Throw a load of knickers in and crochet to your heart's content.

    1. Linda...That's pretty much what I did! Knickers in the washer and crochet in between loads. :)

I love those colors, too. It is hard to leave that yarn alone until I am done with the other afghans.

  3. The colors look nice together. I'm currently putting together a granny baby blanket.

    1. Jenn...I love the colors, too! When the geen and purple afghan is done, there are still two more to go so each grand gets one. Can't hardly wait to see what Jill brings me next!

Have yourself a good week, too. Mine is shaping up to be lovely. :)

  5. Love, love, love those colors and those squares. I say - go for the fun. The laundry can wait!
I was out again today weeding. Just two very small buckets worth of weeds. Slow and steady is my approach. It's still too cold to plant anything. Also, I'm away for a long weekend so wouldn't be here to water in the seeds anyway. Hopefully when I get back next week, I'll be able to plant something.
    Cheers, SJ

    1. SJ...I have to admit I haven't seen very much progress on the laundry. Sigh. There is just too much deliciousness in the form of pretty yarn calling my name. :)

Glad you can get into you garden. And slow and steady works for me, too. Enjoy your long weekend and when you plant, tell me all about it. :)
