I Thought I'd Heard It All...

but I was wrong.  Our legislature - the one in Washington - voted that it is perfectly fine to kill a baby that lived through a botched abortion.

How do these people sleep at night?  I have nightmares at the very thought of killing a baby.  When did this become acceptable in the United States of America?

The left fusses and stews and carries on about children of illegal aliens being separated from their parents at the border but have no problem with slaughtering a helpless, innocent infant.  I just don't understand.

There was a time when I thought we as a nation could come together and solve at least some of the problems that face us.  Now I am not so sure.  A friend sent me the link to this article.   It is part of an interview with former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova, a well respected lawyer who served as special counsel to investigate the Teamsters and as counsel to the Senate Select Intelligence Committee.  He made his remarks on the Feb. 21 edition of The Laura Ingraham Podcast.  The following is a quote from the article, as he says it better than I ever could.

“We are in a civil war in this country," diGenova told Ingraham.

“There’s two standards of justice, one for Democrats one for Republicans," he said. "The press is all Democrat, all liberal, all progressive, all left. They hate Republicans, they hate Trump."

"So the suggestion that there’s ever going to be civil discourse in this country for the foreseeable future is over," said the former federal prosecutor. "It’s not going to be."

"It’s going to be total war," he said. "And as I say to my friends, I do two things – I vote and I buy guns.”

I see every day how the left is working overtime to bring down our duly elected president.  They put way more time and effort trying to achieve that goal than they do in caring for those they are supposed to represent.

And now they want to kill babies.

I think Mr. diGenova is spot on.  I no longer think it is a matter of 'if.'  It is a matter of 'when.'

    1. One Family...Seems like the Twilight Zone is a walk in the park compared to the direction this country is headed. The left wants open borders, socialism, green deals and now killing babies. I'm not sure I even want to know what else they have in mind for us.

  3. You are so right. Our once great country is being destroyed from within because Trump won and anything he wants they will not accept. Late term abortions and the failure to pass the bill to provide medical care to children born alive after a botched abortion is the last straw.

    1. Cathy...That was the last straw for me, too. I have always held onto the hope that we might get back to being a somewhat civilized country, but I fear that ship has sailed. God help us all

  4. Opponents argue that such a situation would be covered by laws already on the books.

    1. Anon...That may very well be. It is my understanding that this bill put forward by Sen. Ben Sasse was not to override existing laws but, in his words, to find out just who was in favor of infanticide. I believe he accomplished that goal.

    2. Or to get people riled up by professional commentators whose job it is to, well, get peole riled up. I have not read the bill, but the summary prepared by on arm of the Library of Congress said the crime would be to refuse treatment to such an infant. I worry about unintended consequences of new laws or court decisions that could alter the intent.

    3. I have read the bill. It in no way alters existing laws concerning abortion. It does make it mandatory to give an infant born alive after an attempt to abort, the same care and consideration granted any other newborn. I do not worry about unintended consequences. I do worry about allowing a living baby to die or helping that infant to die. And if this is not a reason to get riled up, then we have lost the last of our humanity.

  5. We have become a very sick and selfish nation! Whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath? What about the rights of a father? This is simply legalizing murder. I am greatly offended by the lack of action by our churches. Too many pastors and priests are afraid of offending the members of their church. Watch out! Euthanasia is just around the corner for us...CW

    1. CW...Apparently nothing matters any more except a woman's right to kill her unborn - and now newly born - child. It has to go some to become any more sick or selfish than that.

Judging by what I have read, many ministers don't preach the Word of God any more. It is all about 'feelings' and political correctness. We need more 'hellfire and brimstone' preachers who aren't afraid to preach the Bible. These days anyone speaking the truth is accused of 'hate speech.'

Euthanasia - I wouldn't be at all surprised if it isn't already happening. I have a fear bordering on paranoia of ending up in a nursing home where I have no control over any aspect of my life. I fight hard every single day to remain in my own home. We who are in the twilight of lives need to keep our powder dry as well.

    2. Mom,as long as I'm around you won't have to worry about a nursing home. Duane

    3. That's good to know, Son...I am your Grandfather's daughter. When he was nearly 90 years old, I suggested that he go to the Senior Citizens Center and hang out with some of his friends. His reply was, "I don't want to be around all those old people!"

  6. Nothing surprises me anymore. At least half the people in this country think anything is "ok" without regard to the consequences of what they do. Moreover, they're rabidly devoted to forcing their world view on everyone who lives here. Like National Socialists or Communists, they are completely ruthless when it comes to having their own way.

    1. Harry...I guess I am still somewhat surprised at just how low the left will go. I agree that they are ruthless in having their own way. Part of that is the selling of their souls to Socialism. But the other half is that they were deprived of the coronation of their chosen one, so they now hate Trump more than they love their country. I just don't see that changing any time soon unless the left really goes way off the deep end and causes something horrific to happen that will bring out the torches and pitchforks. Then Katie bar the door.

  7. Good god all mighty. The Left don't know what they want. Talk about double standards. Did I say that?? Not's not what I said at all...Even if its documented on video. The left wants to protect the illegals to get there vote next election and that's the bottom line.

    1. Rob...Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see!! If illegals are stopped at the border or deported, the left voter base would dry up in a hurry.

  8. Thought I'd heard it all until Trump defended Kim, a dictator who murders his own people, in the beating death of Otto Warmbier. Please share your thoughts on this. I'm outraged.

    1. Anon...I seriously doubt you are all that outraged. I think you are more interested in debating a point. So here I will say that you are certainly entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. I am not interested in debating.

That being said, I don't think I have ever heard our President defend the murder of North Koreans at the hand of their dictator, nor have I heard him defend Kim in the beating death of Otto Warmbier. Both are acts that should never happen in a civilized nation. But sometimes you have to deal with rattlesnakes in order to save your people. Kim was threatening the United States and a good share of the rest of the world with his nukes. He has the capability to knock out our grid, sending us back hundreds of years. If our President has to make nice with that particular rattlesnake to prevent death and destruction in our homeland, so be it.

  9. I saw a woman arguing that anything that hampered a woman's right to an abortion was the usurping of a woman's control of her own body. Funny; abortion seems more like the "antidote" for consequence of a woman LOSING CONTROL of her body...

Let's see; we have congresscritters voting against protecting children who survive their mothers' attempts to murder them. We have a wet-behind-the-ears, clueless congresscritter saying we shouldn't have babies in order to negate the effects of "climate change." How long do you think it'll be until these same people mandate euthanizing the "elderly?..." ...All for the common good, of course...

    1. Pete...Seems to me that if a woman wants complete control of her body, including not having to deal with an unwanted pregnancy, it might possibly be a good idea for her to keep her knees together. Ya think?!

I think euthanizing the elderly is likely already happening in one form or another. How many people question nursing home deaths? How many folks believe the doctor who tells them nothing more can be done for their aged parent? I question everything, because I know there is not one single member of Congress who will give a tinker's damn whether I live or die. The only possible exception is their need for my vote, and that time has long since passed with the flow of votes across out southern border every day. The phrase, "Keep your powder dry," becomes more relevant as time passes.

    1. SJ...I don't think there is anything left except prayer. And of course, the pantry thing. At least we have that going for us. Good on you with the wheat! I'm about to do a post about the next addition to my pantry. I had hoped to prep a load of vegetables for soup, but I ran out of steam about 2/3 of the way done. Will finish in the morning. This is where I get irritated that I have to stop, but it will get done - just a bit later. :)
