This morning Duane's sister picked him up to take him to a doctor's appointment. Before he left, Duane took these pictures from the corner of the block where our building is located.
From my window, it looks to be maybe 6 inches of the fluffy white stuff on the ground. It is still snowing at 1 pm. Judging by the radar on the National Weather Website, the worst is past us but there is still more to come. If this snowfall doesn't break our record for snow in February, the storm headed our way for the weekend will.
Me...I am indoors in my cozy kitchen. Loaves of bread, buns and cinnamon rolls are rising, getting ready to be baked. There is a pot of vegetable beef soup simmering on the back burner. The snow is actually kind of pretty. I am just grateful I don't have to be out in it!

We are surviving the snowpocalypse quite nicely. Thank you for the pictures and update. It is nice to be inside looking out...CW
ReplyDeleteCW...Glad you are surviving Mother Nature's latest temper tantrum. Inside is the best place to be today. :)
DeleteMmmmm! I can smell those cinnamon rolls!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could share them with you and the Mrs.
DeleteYour cooking always sounds so yummy.
ReplyDeleteTried to comment twice on the last post but my laptop hiccuped and I lost the comments. Hope this goes through.
We have snow coming on Friday if the forecast holds. Stay warm!
SJ
SJ...We have more snow on the way for the weekend, too. Some say there will be more than today. My Kindle is charging and my green fuzzy blanket is at the ready for the next snow dump. The apartment smells good what with the bread baking. Might have to make some cookies tomorrow. :)
DeleteAhh... Fresh bread... I can SMELL IT NOW!!!
ReplyDeletePete...I really, truly wish I could share some of it with you. The smell brought my son to my door and he left with some cinnamon rolls. I guess that's only fair. He brought me a chocolate malt last evening. :)
DeleteSomehow, I'm sure you would share if you could, Vicki. All was not lost though, my having been blessed with a good wife who's a good cook! I got home and found a pot of beef lentil soup on the stove, along with a fresh loaf of corn bread. It was a good day!
DeletePete...You are indeed a lucky man. And any day that includes homemade soup and cornbread is truly a good day!
DeleteI love snow days that make you cozy up and bake too. WE got snow then rain yesterday, and now it's all melting.
ReplyDeleteKristina...I wonder what it is about a snowy day that makes us want to either curl up with a good book or bake something really good. We wound up with between 8 and 9 inches of snow, with more on the way for the weekend.
DeleteWe have had so many days of wind and rain here, that I can't remember the last time the sun came out all day. Trees coming down, creeks up, everything is soggy. Still, I guess we are better off than you folks up there, those pictures look like it is pretty rough.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's all relative. All that wind and rain can be devastating, too. I'm just grateful the kids made it up to Minneapolis and back again without any trouble. Duane said they saw cars in the ditch and at least 1 jackknifed semi on an off ramp. He says on days like that, if you want to go into the ditch, you better call ahead for a reservation or there won't be room. :)
DeleteWe have a sunny day today with another storm looming on the horizon. Spring will be a sight for very sore eyes!!
Well, well, well...For once all of MN looks the same..TOO MUCH SNOW. We have been gifted with 10 to 12 inches for this wonderful winter powder.
ReplyDeleteWe got 8 or 9 inches here. Batten down the hatches. I hear more is headed our way this weekend.
DeleteVery heavy sigh...
DeleteI'm right there with ya, Rob!
Deletethe snow started some time early this morning. I'm very thankful I don't have to be anywhere. MrDog is snoring beside me as I type. We'll get out soon for a little, very little, walk around the block. I want to get to the store for the specials that started today, but don't have to go. What a great feeling to know both the dog and I have everything we need here.
ReplyDeleteStay cozy and warm. SJ
SJ...Our snow should hit tonight or early tomorrow. Predictions are anywhere from 2-3 inches up to a foot. Some say blizzard conditions - some day snow showers. They don't know any more than I do, I think. :)
DeleteYou are right. It is a good feeling knowing I will be just fine without needing to go out. I'll bet Mr. Dog will be happy when he can enjoy the great outdoors a little more.
You stay warm yourself. It may be a good weekend to curl up with a good book and let the world go by.
