Never Forget

2 comments:

  1. Vicki, it is hard to grasp the fact that most kids in high school and younger will never know or understand what life was like prior to the terrible attack on 9-11-2001. We must never forget or allow our real history to be forgotten. Many would relish the idea of erasing the horrors of the past...

    1. CW...Isn't it sad that the kids will never know the kind of freedom we grew up with. A time when people weren't molested at airports. Before surveillance cameras were on every street corner. And a time when people trusted one another.

I am, quite frankly, disturbed at the latest trend of banning the flags of the South, of tearing down statues and of not teaching school children about 9/11 in fear that it might offend muslims. How on earth can we learn from our past if we eradicate the parts of it that some dont like.

I think we are at a crossroads. We can either be truthful about the past or we can ignore it so it doesn't offend. That will be the day when our Constitution becomes null and void, and would be the most sad day of all.
