It is quiet...

here in my corner of the world, now that the snowstorm has come and gone, leaving several inches of heavy, wet snow on the ground.  Oldest Son said it was a white knuckle flight all the way home that evening.  Most of the snow has been hauled away from the streets and we are just waiting to see what Mother Nature will throw our way next.  I am so ready for daffodils and lilacs.

I have been working almost exclusively on finishing the two afghans in progress.  There is an occasional nap thrown in for good measure.  Not exactly a party animal here.  :)

I have been hearing about storms to the east.  I hope they slide on past you who are in their path.

Take a look at some of the folks in my sidebar.  Their lives are more exciting than mine.  I will be back with pictures - soon, I hope.

  1. I'd noticed you've been kinda quiet lately. Guess you've just been behaving yourself! - lol - Keep speaking up once in a while, so we know you're okay.

    1. Gorges...I really haven't been doing much of anything except working on finishing my afghans. Haven't even been following the news very much so I couldn't even work up a good rant! The quiet is good for me, but doesn't make for interesting blog posts. :)

  2. Nothing much going on here either. I am working on baby blankets.

    1. Kristina...I love seeing what you're working on. Baby blankets are fun, but none of my grands seem inclined to produce great-grands for me as yet. :)

  3. Excitement is highly overrated, imho.
Give me cozy and naps anytime.
Went out for a few errands earlier this morning and am now at home. Dog asleep under the foot of the recliner, asleep and snoring - pretty much what I wrote in my last comment.hahaha. My life is just about as exciting!!
    Cheers, SJ

    1. I agree, SJ...I really do like my quiet lifestyle, even if it doesn't lend itself to exciting blog posts. :)

  4. HI Vicki! I was thinking about you and your afghans...that is crochet? I took a beginner knitting class and am finding it frustrating!!

    1. Jenn...The afghans are crocheted. I know how to knit, but I'm not very good at it. I like the granny square pattern because it is easy to do and they work up fairly quickly.

    2. crocheting is way easier than knitting.

    3. deborah...I agree. I like knitting, but I just can't seem to get the stitches even. If you are going for the rustic look then I'm your gal. Crochet is much more forgiving.

    5. Jenn...Give it a shot. I find crochet relaxing. There are lots of tutorials, especially on YouTube.

  5. I thought I had a little excitement going on. Does that count? I lay back on the bed to type and thought I smelled Reese's cups and got very interested. It turns out it was the bowl where I missed chocolate frosting and peanut butter. It had warmed up a bit and smelled like candy.

That is just about it for excitement for me...lol. And, I am not accomplishing as much as you are. I cannot wait to see the afghans.

    1. Linda...The scent of peanut butter and chocolate would do it for me! The crocheting isn't going quite as fast as I would like, but I hope to post pictures after the weekend.

    1. BW...Woo Hoo! Looks like the winter storm season may be coming to an end here as well. Temp predictions are for the 40's for more than a week ahead. I can live with that.

By the way, I have been enjoying your posts, but Blogger still will not let me comment on yours and a couple of others.

  7. We had sun yesterday! I played in the dirt enough to get my veggie bed 2/3 weeded. I'm finally learning to pace myself just a little bit and I did not wake up soar this morning. Yea!
Just in from the vets and MrDog had an excellent exam. Still some issues but no major changes. I'm relieved.
Hope you're having a good day. SJ

    1. Oh, SJ...Your comment brings to memory the wonderful smell of the fresh turned earth in spring. I can no longer dig the black dirt from under my fingernails, but I can really enjoy the memories. And isn't it great when we can do the things we enjoy and not suffer pain. Bonus!

Glad Dog is doing well. Give him a pet and an ear scratch for me. :)
