I Was Gonna Rant Today

I started writing several times.  Lord knows, there is enough material out there to write about.

I could write about the lying, hateful stupidity of AOC and her squad.

I could write about the border crisis and why Congress doesn't fix it.

I could write about why illegal aliens who broke our laws when they set foot on our soil, should not be given free stuff.

I could write about the Rule of Law and why it applies only to you and me.

I could write about the growing violence and hatred across our country.

I could write about the Democratic presidential contenders ideas of free stuff for all, their willingness to grab our guns and their determination to turn my country into a Socialist state.

I could.

But I won't.

Because when it comes right down to it, what I really want is for them to take care of business and then go away and leave me alone to live my life in peace.

I don't think that is asking for too much.

  1. The lying and the acceptance of it has my goat right now.

oh, and the irony of Warren stating she's going to use the laws to investigate and prosecute those in ICE and CBP....but don't we dare use the laws to enforce the illegal immigration violations.

    1. One Family...I have always known that politicians lied to us. But I really didn't expect the general public to just accept the lies with no consequences to the liar.

Everything has become upside down and sideways. I have all the compassion in the world for those who want a better life. I have made moves to achieve those goals. But I have never broken the law to do it. When a person breaks the law to enter a country, it shows they have no respect for that country. And then our politicians reward them for breaking the law. And they want to criminalize those who work every day to try to keep us safe. And all of it is just so the Democratic party can seize and keep power. It boggles the mind.

    3. You hit that nail directly on the head. Nothing makes much sense any more. They lie and they lie and they lie some more and then double down on the lie when proven wrong. And while I'm at it, who really gives a rodent's behind what Colin Kaepernick thinks anyway?

  2. Vicki, this great country of ours has problems, but it seems to me the extent of the problems has become considerably worse since the Democraps figured out that importing votes by offering freebies to the sought-after voters was the solution to seizing power. I was called a "racist" by a sibling when I explained to them I could not vote for Obuma. That is how desperate the libs are. Needless to say, that sibling is no longer on my Christmas list. It is truly sad and unfortunate we have been reduced to this state of affairs. It's one of the reasons I enjoy spending time with myself. Thank you for speaking the truth to those willing to listen. We are in the middle of a "race war" and an uncivil war seems to be looming ever closer each day, prepare and take care...CW

    1. CW...What is astonishing to me is that the Dems aren't the least bit sneaky about their intentions to ruin a perfectly good country. They are right up front with their intentions to defy our Constitution at every turn. They want gun confiscation. They want universal health care. They want to change everything good and true about America. Oh, they do lie, but they lie about people. Anyone who doesn't buy into their bs is a target. And we are all racist, don't you know.

I don't talk politics with most of my family. My sons get it. My daughters - not so much. We haven't hit the bottom of the rabbit hole quite yet, but every day it seems we are getting closer.

So I will just keep on doing what I am doing. There is no such thing as being prepared enough. Take care.

  3. Unfortunately fur us, Vicki, these peoples' ideas of "taking care of business" means taking care of OUR business!

I'll continue to rant, but it will be in the forms of letters and phone calls to the likes of this... this... "SQUAD" to let them know that, not only are they lunatics, but that their finger-pointing and calling us "R-A-A-A-C-I-I-I-S-S-S-ST!" ...just aren't having the intended effect...

Fear did not build America. Fear WILL destroy it though. I am NOT afraid... Something tells me you're not either...

    1. I hadn't really thought about it, Pete, but you are right. I am not afraid. I am old enough to have already lived through a couple of kinds of hell, so a few still wet behind the ears lunatics screaming 'racist' at every turn scares me about as much as a pesky mosquito.

What does cause me to fear is what kind of world I will leave behind that my kids and grands will have to contend with. I have hope for them because they have a good foundation and belief system. For the most part, they don't buy into the insanity being spewed by the 'squad' and their ilk. They know what is right and what is not. The way things are headed, however, those beliefs may put a pretty big target on their backs. I can only pray they have the strength to fight when they need to.

'Taking care of business' sure doesn't mean what it once did. Thing is, I may be old, but I am still quite capable of taking care of my own business without some politician who is completely out of touch with reality, telling me how to live. I think I liked it better when 'taking care of business' meant doing what had to be done to see that your family was taken care of - not sticking political noses in where they do not belong. (soapbox back into corner now)

  4. I have limited my circle of friends to only a hand full. Mostly folks like you. Found out a long time ago,(age 11) the folks you thought where your friends are not at all.

    1. Rob...I think we all are more comfortable around like minded people. True friends are the ones who know the bad stuff and love you anyway. They are rare, but worth having.

  6. You know I am a Democrat, but do not think I am for giving away things to everybody. I do not agree with 99% of the people who are talking. I do not want socialism. And, I do not think we need to let half a million people enter our country. And, I despise Trump. Sorry to be so mean on your blog. I just think most of the Dems running are nutso.

    2. Linda...Never even once, in all the years you have been commenting here, have you ever been mean. Never. I don't think I even knew your political party affiliation until today. And I don't care if a person is Republican, Democrat or Independent - white, brown, black, purple or green. It just doesn't matter. What matters is that we can have a discussion without without name calling and fisticuffs. And you and I have been doing that for a long time, my friend.

Nobody says you have to like Trump. Some do - some don't. But I have never heard you disrespect the office like so many now do. We are fast losing the art of civil conversation and it is good to know there are still those who can, even on both sides, share ideas freely. That's the way it should be.

    3. I know this is Vicki's blog, but I have to say that what you did right now was not mean. You stated your case. You agreed. You disagreed. THAT'S the America I remember... I wish our current crop of Congresscritters would remember the America we do...
