Hope

In talking with friends recently, I am finding that the constant attack on our freedoms is taking a toll.

Each day brings stories in the news designed to make us fearful, designed to get us to hate our neighbors, designed to get us to believe we need more government control 'for the greater good.'  It is enough to send the most hardy of souls plummeting into depression.

I found the following video that describes what many of us are feeling.  It also gives us reasons to hope.

When the 24/7 News Barrage Leaves You Deeply Sad, How Do You Handle the Heartache? - YouTube

A friend once told me his family motto was “Illegitimi non carborundum.”  When I asked what it meant, he replied, “Don't let the bastards grind you down.”

  1. The "state of the union" is depressing, but the best days are yet ahead for believers. That helps me keep things in perspective. Thanks for the link.

  2. Most people have heard of some of the Rule of Threes. You can survive:

    3 seconds without a brain;
    3 minutes without air;
    3 hours without shelter;
    3 days without water;
    3 weeks without food;
    and finally,
    3 months without hope.

    There are those who say my blog and the topics I write about are too "depressing." I just know what is coming. They won't be happy challenges for a lot of people. However, knowing that God knows all and that His prophets have told us far in advance of these events gives me great peace. As Gorges says, the best days are yet ahead.

    1. Jennifer...Your blog posts are only depressing to those who live in the land of unicorns and fairy dust and who see nothing wrong with the direction our country is headed. The rest of us find it a great source of information and are grateful for it. Gorges is spot on. The best is yet to come.

    1. CW...It is not easy to keep smiling these days, but knowing that God has got this one helps, as do the comments here. Take good care, my friend.

  4. Vicki~ I always have Hope. I've been in God's Safekeeping since Time was a breathe in a moment and will still be even after this existence ceases.
    Those who seek to usurp God will find their lives diminished. The American People have been through worse times and privations due to War, Weather and Losses. When times were bad, We did without. There was no instant gratification. Having a hot meal was a blessing as was a coat even if it were threadbare. Being afraid will make you sick in body, mind and soul. It is time We stop being afraid. Don't play their games. Red

    1. Thank you, Red...You said it better than I can. Fear is the enemy. When we remember that we do not belong to the State and that we do belong to God, that is when we win over the evil.
