It can happen to you...

There are so many who are under the assumption that bad things can happen, but if they do, it will not be in their backyard.  If that's where you are, chances are pretty good you do not join the rest of us here in our way of thinking and preparing.  But if by some chance you stumbled upon this blog, I highly recommend the following video.

🚨 He WARNS it's Gonna Get Bad SOON! 🚨 - YouTube

Patara at 'Appalachia's Homestead' is a common sense video creator, unlike many who run around, hair on fire with each and every bad thing that happens.  I trust what she says.

I have had a small break to refresh and recharge.  My adult children have agreed to haul some food in jars to their homes.  So today I am up to my elbows in canning hamburger.  My son kindly brought me 40 lbs. of it yesterday.

Buckle up.  Looks like the road ahead is full of potholes.

Pray.

  1. Vickie, read this morning that beef prices will begin to rise dramatically as the herds they have culled already have finished being processed and sold. Anyone wanting beef in their freezers or on their shelves should purchase now before prices rise.

    1. Mama J...I am not at all surprised. I doubt prices will get better any time soon. Here prices on a lot of other products are headed skyward. Thing is, if this is an attempt to make us comply, I don't think they took into consideration just how far we will go to stay as free and independent as possible. A little ornery goes a long way. :)

  2. Vicki~ A switch to the idiots behinds goes a long way also. I bought 10 pounds of chicken breasts and cooked all of them. Into the freezer all sliced for meals. Same with the ground turkey. A pox on their nether regions. Red

    1. Red...At this point, if people are still ignoring what is happening and insist on living in a world of unicorns and fairy dust, I'm not sure anything can save them. Example...the young nurse who cares for me is good at her job. She has seen me filling water jugs and canning meat and repackaging food from the grocery. And we have talked about why I do these things. Friday she announced she is going to Florida for a mini vacation next week. Since November, she has flown to California, Nevada, and Florida - twice, but hasn't put back a single can of pork and beans. I'm not sure even a pox on her would make a difference. Her attitude is 'party on.' Sad, really.

  3. Vicki, the way things are going anything could happen at any time!!! It's not a matter of "if," but "when." In the end, the "what" doesn't count for much. It's up to us to concentrate on the When... and what comes afterward...

    1. You are spot on, Pete. Nearly every day we hear about this horror or that, each aimed at controlling us. Each is a threat to our way of life. We don't prepare just for zombies. We try to be ready for whatever happens. I do what I do so that when the time comes, I can look the powerful square in the eye and strongly suggest that they will be spending eternity in a very hot climate!

  4. I bartered some of my eggs for home-made soap. I think that I got the best of the deal, the person was way too generous, but she insisted, so..... some of it will be used to make dish soap, I tried a recipe that I saw online, and although it wasn't sudsy, it cleaned the dishes. I'm in survival mode. Luckily we didn't have much money in the bank after I bought a tractor for my husband. So not much left to lose. We do ok with the pension income, and if that should stop, we should still be ok for a while. We went ten years without a job, we can do it again. It would be a miracle if either of us lived that long anyway.

    1. Anon...Survival mode is the best place to be just now. I have a list of items that are store bought that can be made at home. And I keep experimenting to find what works. The less we have to depend on places like the grocery store, the better our chances of making it through hard times. Bartering eggs for handmade soap is brilliant! You are ahead of the game.
