Too Quiet

When my kids were still kids, they liked to tease and squabble and even on rare occasions, fight.  They were a noisy group.  But when things in my house got quiet, that's when I worried.  And rushed to see what shenanigans they were up to.

Before the election there was a lot of noise.  Campaign signs for Trump were wrecked or stolen.  The 'Never Trumpers' were loud and long winded.  Everywhere we looked, there was someone declaring that Trump was all sorts of bad things.

He won anyway.

And all of a sudden, it is quiet.

We were wrong about riots occurring after Trump won, including me.  I, along with many others were sure that cities would burn.  We thought there would be protests and violence in the streets.

Didn't happen.  And now I am worried.

There have been a bunch of criminal lawsuits.  And a couple of impeachments, including one when Trump was no longer in office.  And assassination attempts.  Do any of us believe those in power have given up on getting rid of Mr. Trump?

Nope.

Time to get serious about praying.  For the safety of the President Elect and his family.  For our beloved country, for there are still those who want to wreck what we have.  For those of us who, to quote Obama, "cling to our religion and our guns."

As Mr. Trump has said, "They're coming after you --- and I'm just standing in their way."

I just cannot shake the feeling that something wicked this way comes.  Pray.  Pray without ceasing.

  1. Right there with you, sister! It's the opposite of the maid protesting too much; she's not saying a thing. So we pray and keep stacking!

    1. sbrgirl...After all the hoopla before the election, it just seems strange to me that now, nobody is saying very much. This would have been the perfect excuse for BLM or other similar groups to go ahead and do what they do best - burn cities to the ground. Whatever the reason for the quiet - I'll take it. Keeping powder dry, nonetheless. Yup...pray and stack!!

  2. I'm feeling 'it' too. I keep praying hard.

OTH, I saw on a YT video yesterday that 10 counties in California had 'flipped to red'. And that was without much spent on the race here. I'm hopeful my state could move to center or even to the right.

I pray often for our country and our President and VP-elect.
    SJ now in California

    1. SJ...I have hope for your state. I have spent time in Cali and loved it. And I'm guessing there are more folks that are right leaning and have a preparedness mindset than we know about.

Praying continually as well. I still believe the haters will try to get rid of our President and VP. God is our hope, but I don't need to tell you that!

  3. Indeed, Vicki, now is NOT the time to let our collective guard down, nor is it ever time to stop praying.

I saw the "anonymous" post you deleted. If this person was honest with himself, they'd DREAD the thought of the kind of lawfare that was perpetrated against Trump being turned on THEM! As for the other part of his comment, Trump may not be perfect, but at least he can DEFINE what a woman IS! Funny how these people are so "brave" but always refer to themselves as "Anonymous..."

    God bless, Vicki!

    1. Pete...Agreed that there is never a time to stop praying. I have lived a lot of years and in that time, I have never seen our country so divided. We so need to get God back in all of our lives.

I just do not have the patience to deal with trolls. That was the second delete for this one and that is what I will continue to do. What I do not understand is why someone would get pleasure from being such an ass. Sad, really. Guess I must pray for that one as well.

      Keep keeping on, my friend!

  4. Hi Vicki
It sure feels like something is lurking out there. I think we all need to stay alert. I’m continuing to pray for Trumps safety and that God will give him wisdom for the job he has to do….. Jan

  5. Hi Jan...
We aren't the only ones feeling this way. While browsing YouTube channels that I enjoy, I found that most are saying the same thing. After all of the hullabaloo leading up to the election, I expected some sort of kick back when they lost. Plus, I don't trust many of them any further than I can toss them!

So yeah...praying same as you. Take care and be careful, my friend.

  7. That's exactly what worries me, Ed...
That gives the evil ones plenty of time to do what they will. Praying to the one who is in control of it all that this time, good wins.

  8. Maybe it's quiet because we Democrats have accepted the election results, and unlike what happened in 2020, we don't believe in storming the Capitol and killing people to try to force our way into power?

    1. This appears to be one of those times when we see things differently, and therefore may respectfully agree to disagree.

  9. The giddiness from conservative media the next day! Our daughter thought we would be exuberant and I said I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall. This quiet means SOMETHING! And all I can think of is A Lincoln went to the theater too soon!!! Pray hard!

  10. That is pretty much how I am viewing the quiet. I am remembering the wailing and gnashing of teeth when Hillary lost. The mood now that Kamala lost is just creepy. I really do hope we are wrong. But praying hard makes sense to me. Yeah - Lincoln should have stayed home!!
