Brrrr...
The temperature is still in the minus column and it looks like it will probably stay there today. My apartment stays warm with the thermostat set at 70 degrees, and it only occasionally drops down to 67 or 68. I am grateful to be living in an old building with outer walls that are nearly a foot thick, and living on second floor where the rising heat from the bicycle shop downstairs keeps my floors warm as well.
Today is a good day to piddle about with sewing projects. I got to digging through my closet and found a couple of half-finished quilt tops, so I'm working on those today. Country music on the radio and once in a while some classical for a change of pace. Hot coffee within reach. The promise of my favorite cold weather comfort food - chicken and dumplings - for supper.
I have some running around to do, but that will keep until it warms up later this week or the first part of next week. Need to get fitted for compression socks and maybe take a trip to the fabric store, just for fun. Been a while since I was out and about just for fun. I'm thinking I will do more of that when warmer weather arrives.
Sometimes I tend to get caught up in the seriousness of my latest illness or in the horror of the news lately, and forget that life needs to be lived, too. I used to go places and do things just for the fun of it, and maybe it is high time to get back into that habit.

I'd like to be out and about myself, but it's just too dern COLD!
ReplyDeleteGorges...I agree. I will not venture outside until the temp is at least above zero!
ReplyDeleteHad to be out today medicine run forgot to pick up on sat. Look at the bright side. Twins start spring training on Monday. better sign of spring, then the old ground hog any day.
ReplyDeleteRob...I'll take any sign of spring I can get! Glad that the errands I need to run can wait a few days. On the up side, we are more than half way through Feb. That's always a good thing. :)
ReplyDeleteMom, With those compression socks. You will have long slender legs in no time. Have a great day. #1 son.
ReplyDelete# i Son...I'm thinking that the socks aren't gonna help. I do believe that I'm stuck with the short stumpy legs. But in my next lifetime, I'm gonna be tall and thin and, oh yeah, rich, too!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Mom
Amen...
ReplyDeleteMary...(big grin) :)
ReplyDeleteHow does Duane get the distinction of being #1 son?! What am I, chopped liver...Geesh!
ReplyDeleteDavid
Son...Don't get your knickers in a knot. #1 refers to the order of birth. Chopped liver you ain't! :)
ReplyDeleteHope your cold is gone and you are feeling better.
Love, Mom
My wife and I have just been staying inside as much as possible. I do have to go out to take care of the animals, but I don't stay out any longer than I have to. It's way too cold. The ice al over everything is a bad slip hazard , as well. Like you, we will just stay inside until it's safer to go out.
ReplyDeleteHarry...We are having a strange winter. Frigid temps for a few days and then warmer weather and an inch or two of snow and back to sub-zero temps. Guess Mother Nature just can't make up her mind what to do here. I was thinking about hopping on the bus to run some errands, but I think I will just wait a while. Right now I'm healthy and I think I would like to stay that way. Even without the grocery delivery, I could stay right here in my apartment until June (Actually, I'm good for probably a year) and not need supplies. I don't understand why people don't stock up. Makes life so much easier especially in bad weather.
