Grumpy

The last few days I have been dealing with a cellulitis outbreak.  This is nothing new and if caught and treated in time, it will soon be just fine.  It is healing nicely.  But it means that I have had to spend time sitting with my feet elevated to relieve the swelling in my lower legs.  This makes me grumpy.

I check my Facebook page daily to see if any of my children have posted pictures that I can steal.  Today I found this one.

"C'mon Dad, let's take a selfie."

Made me smile.  Made me laugh.  Chased the grump away.

I love those kids!

  3. Chickenmom...I feel fine - this is just an inconvenience! Those kids always make me smile - so do their parents. I can just hear them begging their Dad, my son, to take a selfie and then Boston making fish lips when he does. :)

  5. I thought that, at the very least, a small collector might let you have a fan and a light during a power outage, Vicki.

  6. Gorges...I appreciate you letting me know about that. I have seen small, portable collectors for phones or Kindles and maybe laptops, but hadn't thought beyond that. Excellent idea!

  7. Hoping you're on your feet soon. Good thing you caught it early from the sound of things.
Having a quiet day myself. Went swimming with my workout buddy (we've been swimming about twice a week for four years). Didn't have much 'go' for a big workout today. But at least I made it there for something. Took the dog for a walk around the block and called it good for the day. Am on-line for a little bit and then heading for a nap. Cheers, SJ in Vancouver

  8. SJ...Sometimes accomplishing just one or two things is enough. And there is something to be said for quiet, restorative days. Here my big thing was washing dishes and wiping down the kitchen. Not much for most, but enough for me today. On the bright side, though, since I have to spend time off my feet, I dug out the pieces for a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt I have worked on now and then for a couple of years. Since it is all hand sewing, it is the perfect thing to keep me busy. That and listening to one of the audio books I have downloaded. Made for a nice day. :)

  9. Always happy to make you smile.
Hope you get better soon, otherwise I'll have to drag you into the doctors office!

  10. David...I just love the pictures you post of your family. They always bring a smile. This little outbreak seems to be healing just fine. Dragging shouldn't be necessary, but if it is, I'll let you know. Your brother has already threatened to do the dragging should it get any worse. Guess you will have to stand in line and take a number. :)
    Love, Mom

  11. I'm trying to get back to normal too, and it's a long hard road. I know how you feel. Being under the weather does make everything harder. Makes me think about mortality, something I never paid much attention to before. I guess we just have to plug along, one day at time, and hope for the best.

  12. Harry...Sometimes it seems like I take two steps forward and then three steps back! Which irritates me a lot. As giving up is not an option, I do as you say and just plug along, taking it one day at a time. What's that old saying - "If I had known I would live this long I might have taken better care of myself." :)

  14. Thanks, Blue...Grands really are great. We get to do the fun stuff and let their parents worry about the discipline part. Love it!
