I love it when the Grands call me.
"I'm so excited," she said. "I got chosen to do a tap dance solo!"
Boston recently changed dance studios. The one where she is now is smaller, but has an excellent instructor. She is learning all sorts of new things. Boston is a really good dancer, having been in competitions for six of her 14 years, usually performing tap dance numbers.
Boston's first competition in 2010.
April 2016 competition.
That she is so excited about her dancing and the new things she is learning tells me that the right choice was made when she and her parents made the decision to switch studios.
Boston went on to tell me that her sister Maddie was busy with her gymnastics classes and her brother Jacob had finished flag football for the summer and was starting practice for "real" tackle football.
"I was just so excited about my solo that I had to call and tell you about it, Grandma."
I'm so glad you did, Boston. You made my day!
Love, Grandma
Pretty girl! I used to wish that I could learn to tap dance, but I can't even walk easily, so I think I waited too long! - lol - I don't believe in "real" football. It's just a modern gladiator sport where some folks deliberately TRY to hurt others. I'd rather see everything go to flag football, or turn to soccer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie-pie! My Mom tried the dance lessons for me back in the late 40's - early 50's. Didn't work out. I am not well coordinated and still trip over my shadow! :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gorges...I think maybe both of us are past the point of learning new dance steps! Some days it is a challenge just walking from one end of my apartment to the other. :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a big football fan either but I am a fan of my grandson, so I support him no matter which sport he is involved in.
Thanks, Chickenmom...I wasn't destined to be the next Ginger Rogers, either. I have been known to trip over my own toenails. :)
ReplyDeleteKids staying busy don't get in trouble. You did a good job raising your kids, and it shows in how they are raising theirs.
ReplyDeleteRob...Sometime I think mine grew up well in spite of me - I made a lot of mistakes. But I am really proud of the way they are raising my grands. They are good kids - all six of them. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to get a call like that, isn't it. Kind of makes you feel connected.
ReplyDeleteYes it does, Harry...I really love the part where they want to call Grandma and tell her what is happening in their lives.
ReplyDeleteSo happy I got to talk to you for awhile! Miss you Grandma! -Boston
ReplyDeleteMiss B...You can call me any time. I love hearing about what you are doing. It is hard to get together when everyone is so buy with school and activities, but phone calls from you, your sister and brother, make me happy. Love you all.
