Today...

the temperature had dropped 30 degrees.  The air conditioning is shut off.  The windows are open.  There is a light rain falling.

Tomorrow I will drum up some ambition to clean a closet and sort through boxes and tubs of fabric and yarn.

But today is a good day to stay in my jammies, sew little fabric hexagons together on my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt and watch old movies.

I love retirement.  :)

    1. Yes it does, Gorges...I like the part where I can do what I want when I want, ornery cuss that I am. :)

  2. We're due for a cool snap this weekend. After the ninety degree weather last weekend, it will be a welcome change.

    1. Jess...Our little heat wave came to an end last night. I am really loving the cooler temps. Hope you get the relief you want. Your heat and humidity are so much worse where you are than here.

  4. I'm with Gorges. I mostly love retirement.

It's raining here as well and I'm loving it. Took the dog for a walk and ran one errand. Am home again and checking my favorite blogs. After, I've got a few pages to read and I'll be finished with my current mystery. Have you read Fern Michaels? She's known for romance novels. But she's written a series called the Sisterhood that's a bit of a Charlie's Angels kind of story line. I've started rereading the series and am loving it.

    1. SJ...It has been raining off and on here all day. The high temp has been 62 degrees. I am loving every second of it!

I have heard of the Sisterhood series but have not read any of them as yet. When getting out to go to a bookstore became a bit of a problem, I downloaded over 500 books that are in the public domain from websites like 'Project Gutenberg,' and loaded them onto my Kindle. I have everything from murder mysteries to old cookbooks, but none are newer books. Most are from the middle 1800's to maybe the 1930's. Still, there are lot that are fun to read. I suppose I could order from Amazon, but I already have so much reading material that I just haven't done so.

Enjoy what is left of your day. I am, for I know that even though I could get used to this layabout lifestyle, I really need to get back to the real world tomorrow and get some things done. :)

    2. Sounds like you have a great library on your Kindle. Just a thought - if you have a library card you may be able to download books from your local library. Ours will do that. Also magazines are available for download...hey, you can never have too many books, imo.

    3. SJ...I had forgotten all about using my library card. I had done that a number of years ago. I could access online the book I wanted to read for a certain number of days. I will definitely do that again. Thanks for the reminder. And I agree - one can never have too many books!!

    1. Jenn...We are enjoying our cool down after the heat wave over the weekend. The rest of the week looks like typically early fall weather, which I really like. Every now and then if I know I will be spending a quiet day, I will stay in my jammies and robe. Today was really nice and in spite of being somewhat lazy, I did make progress on my quilt. So I guess it wasn't totally wasted time. But then, time spent doing something you love is never a waste, is it. :)
